      Scary lucid dream

      I had a dream last night….
I dreamt I was awake and sensed a presence in my room. As I looked at it in the face, there was a brilliant bright white light that filled all I could see. Then I felt as if I was being shocked and a purple and pink plasma ball formed over me, sending electricity throughout my entire body. As I looked at the plasma ball and then down at the rest of my body, I could see yellow and blue being sent into my body and my body glowed brilliant bright white light. It lasted over a minute. And then it and the presence were gone. I awoke thirstier than I had ever been in my life and I had consumed water before I went to bed, which I rarely do. I drank a 78 mm bottle of water and went back to bed, but I was still thirsty, a feeling I could not shake.

Then as I was almost asleep again, I heard a dog in my room. Just before the dog would come in, I would hear a low thud (my dog was sleeping in my son’s room, behind a closed door). I kept sensing it was going to jump on my bed but many times it did not. On its fourth return, it did jump up on my bed as I reached out to pet it as I felt compelled to do so. It took a hold of my hand with its mouth and bit down. I struggled my other hand and pried it mouth open and started calling for help, yelling as loud as I could, but no one came to help me. It was very vivid and I knew I was asleep but was not, and that I had to cry out very loud for help to come. Finally the dog realizes I had it in a position of failure and disappeared in my hands.

I became fully awake and listened, no one was stirring, not even my dog. I realized it was but a dream and suddenly felt exhausted, like I had not slept in a week. I would start to fade to sleep and I would hear that same thud noise, which would bring me to force myself to wake up, afraid of another attack. This continued until daybreak when I got up and let my dog into my room with me. I was then able to sleep, but had nightmares. I also slept until 9 am, when I am normally up at 6 am.

I read that to dream of electricity, denotes there will be sudden changes about you, which will not afford you either advancement or pleasure. If you are shocked by it you will face a deplorable danger. So, that has me concerned. Any thoughts?

Really, no one has heard of anything like this? I mean do I wait in my room to avoid my "deplorable danger" or what? I am concerned. Plus, I am not just some kid who just had a nightmare. I am a few moons shy of 50 years in age. I have many dream books and this is not my first lucid dream. by far the scariest though....

Yes, I do "know" I moved and my blankets affirmed that. Thank you for the reply =])

I have suffered Sp before when an evil face confronted me and I shook violently and could not breathe, scream nor move. This dream was different.

I might also add where I live is close to (recently) awarded American Indian burial ground. I have had quite a few dreams before I knew that fact of covered wagons being attacked by american indians and their souls crying out for help as they die. We also have a child ghost, we call him charlie, in our home. He likes to call out to me from parts of the house (MOM!!!!) MOM! MOMMMMMMMMM!) the kids are not in as well as move items from where they are suppose to be until I say "ok, put it back Charlie".

Seems like a series of false awakenings. I would say don't worry about it. The first frightening dream put you in a frightened state and set the mood for more nightmares to occur.

I had something similar to this. My gf has a few stuffed animals in our room. I had a dream that they were biting my hand. Every time I went back to bed they were waiting for me so they could continue to bite me. Knowing about lucid dreams, I did a reality check and understood I was dreaming. This changed the whole scenario and made it fun and pleasant even though I did feel actual physical pain from the bites.

Thank you kindly But I honestly have to say the electricity and shocking did not alarm me, in fact it made me feel calm. The dog however, when it kept trying to come back did. Still, I did not worry about it much until I read in the dream book about electricity and being shocked meaning "deplorable danger".
That is what has me spooked most. Not sure if I will sleep well tonight.......

Yea I would say that this is either SP or just a series of bad dreams. Maybe even the entrance of a dream through SP, I didn't experience it so I honestly can't say for sure.

If you read up around the site, there are some good threads about how to face nightmares while in a dream that might help you out.

I had a scary "cat" dream. I was laying on my back in bed and heard a nasty cat out in the living room (we don't have ANY pets in the house). It jumped up on the bed and I actually imagined feeling the pressure of the cat next to me even though I was sleeping. It was getting ready to "do" something to me, bite me, scratch me or whatever, and I tried calling my husband for help. Because I was sleeping I couldn't get his name to come out. I tried and tried to yell for him but all that would come out was a garbled moaning sound. Then I woke up.

I wouldn't depend on a dream book if I were you. I wouldn't depend on a dream book if I were anyone. I've recently been learned how to interpret dreams, and there are no dream images that have "universal" meaning. It depends entirely on your attitude towards them. For example, a lion in a dream might have completely different meaning to a lion tamer than it would to someone who had a family member who had been attacked by a lion. A stormy ocean might represent turmoil in one person's dream, and adventure in another person's. It all depends on how you feel about it. If the electric shock didn't illicit fear or pain or the like, I wouldn't worry about it.
