Is it Possible to Force a Reality Event

Ok. I have sometimes willfully tried to force something to happen in real life whilst in that inbetween awake and sleep state. Ok, You think I'm Nuts, but sometimes this has really happened. I have also asked my Unconscious mind to show me future events and to my surprise they have actually come true. On one occasion I saw myself taking the wrong course of action so I correctly avoided this situation. These events if followed in real life would have had Disastrous effects. If we are connected by some collective consciousness what could stop this happening anyway. Are the barriers between reality and the dream world really that far apart. Could it be that whoever has the most power has the upper hand. Is it a case of taking Control. The only difference is as I see it is that we are walkiing around in "Meat" bodies.

I've heard this question from a few different people when reading up on dream forums and such.

It's always hard to tell whether you are actually "seeing the future" or if your subconcious mind can infer with great detail into the future. I'd like to think that regardless of the physics behind it, that the future is not set or predetermined. If so, then the most you could see is a possible future, which is just an inference anyhow.

But anyways, that's my 2 cents. I think with the loads of information that your brain takes in every day, it wouldn't be undeniable to think that our subconcious is often thinking ahead (no pun intended).

Interesting answer. I tend to think however that although we may have some choice in our own circumstance the future is already "Out There"' and we have no control ultimately. (Lets face it, it must be). I like your view that the unconscious "scans" possible events though. I mean, it's gotta be out there and possibly looking back at us. The main decisions have been made...........we are just daydreaming our lives away.

Thatīs similar to believing what others call Destiny. I donīt think itīs that way. I do agree with you when I say that I think our will has a lot to do with the results of anything. Ppl who have "faith" in themselves tend to get far better results than unconfident ppl and thats no coincidence. And as for "scanning" the future. I think itīs exactly that. There is no definate future but we can "scan" for the most likely result.

I think that you are completely right when you say that we are connected through "some collective consciousness", I believe that that is a person's soul. I take a more Buddhist aproach toward my veiw on life, and I have had many experiences when I see the world in a whole different way and the connectedness is visible, and quite strange to veiw. I tend to believe that the only difference between this world and the dream world is that in this world, there are constraints such as gravity which we cannot overcome because it is engrained in our minds as a true and real thing. In a dream world, it is easy to fly when you realize that nothing is "real". But who determines what is real? Lucid dreaming to me is just as real as this world can be. You say there are barriers that block us from controling this world too? Yes that is the mind. And since we are all collectivly concious of our world, the world and its limits are imposed in the back of your brain as well.
It is quite interesting that you say you can control things in this world while half asleep. Perhaps you are dreaming. Or perhaps with no one around to second guess your abilities, and with a crystal clear mind, anything is possible... That is just my opinion on the matter. I deffinatly believe that in the dream world you can contact other people. And in that case, "whoever has the most power has the upper hand." Good luck with your lucid dreaming...

I think it seems perfectly logical. But then, I thought that I could ACTUALLY fly until perhaps sixth grade, so perhaps you shouldn't listen to me .

I tend to view life much in the same way as I view my dreams -- a projection of the mind. This certainly accounts for how angry people draw other angry people to them, or how truth-seekers are drawn together. It's almost like a great, magnetic, interconnected web, where people of similar "frequencies" are drawn to one another. This system of reality is easily exploitable (not to be taken in the negative sense) in the same way that lucid dreams are easily exploitable. This may accout for your experiences.

It is important that we do not judge these few unbiased moments of our lives, but take them as they are. There is no nightmare for the lucid dreamer, nor no shadows on the mind.
