Question How to keep dreaming a lucid dream?

I have had a lot of lucid dreams lately, but every time i realise that im dreaming i get all excited about it and starts waking up..
I have tried concentrating really hard when i feel like im waking up, but i doesn't seem to help at all. So, what should i do?

The conventional advice is generally to start spinning around, or to start rubbing your hands together.

Both are physical activities that force you to deal with your dream-body.

Spinning around also allows you to take in the dream world and perceive it as real. Rubbing your hands together generates a physical, tactile sensation which helps to ground you in the dream state.

Try both together if you want.

      My opinion:
*Lucid Dreams, OBEs, Astral Projections are one and the same.
*There are no levels of lucidity. Quality changes if you apply some deepening.
*Lucid Dreams do not last more than 20 minutes.
      *Wolves are beautiful.

Okay thanks for your reply, i remember trying that before, but that didn't change much. Maybe I just need a lot of practice. Anyways, i will follow your advice and rupping my hands, spinning etc.

How much practice does this usually require, before you are able to stay "lucid"?

I geuss you could do it on your first try. But it's harder, because you get too excited. Especialy at the beginning.

Oh, and if you could give me another newbie advice ;D

When i get lucid, it's only if i take a nap or wake up too early and sleep for an hour or 2 more.. Isn't it possible to get lucid right away when you start sleeping ?

I am far away from good LDer. But I will totally get there, since I am still as newbie as you are. ;D It's possible, but too hard to get lucid right away, unless it's a nap. you can enter lucidity using WILD before a nap I guess, but not before normal night sleep. 2 hours are far away from enough. Wake up after 5 hours. ;D

Like they said, just try to stay calm. Rub your hands together and really study details in the dream in order to keep yourself grounded in the reality of it. If all else fails and it's started to fade out on you, just will yourself back into the dream and started spinning. If I ever feel like the dream is coming to an end I will just shout, "STAY IN THE DREAM!!" as I'm dream spinning. That tends to work pretty well.

I'll only wake from lucid if there's light or sound present (a bit will do), or when I completed what I'm suppose to complete.

Hey thanks a lot guys. That was really awesome! Just had my first long lucid dream this morning.
When i realized that i was dreaming, the dream started to blur as usually and I felt like it was coming to an end. Then
I did like Raphael said while I was focusing on a single object in the dream, then the dream started to become stable again and I started exploring This happened like 2 or 3 times during the dream and i had to stop and concentrate.
Anyways, I tried flying around and moving giant objects with my mind etc. real kewl
But i couldn't control everything, which I think was a bit weird.. For example; i couldn't teleport to places of my own desire. Also, random things and people just showed up But I guess that I just need some practise before I can control the dream completely?

Yeah it takes practice, they key is to really believe in you powers. If there's any doubt in your mind then it won't happen, it's like a mental block.

Definitely read the tutorial Purebred posted! I tried some of those in a lucid dream last night. I stared at my hands for about a minute and wow, the dream became very stable and clear, unlike ever before. Also, I increased clarity by putting on a pair of glasses lol. I saw it suggested in another thread by SilverBullet. Have fun.

be careful not to stare at one object too long or you just get sidetracked and can use lucidity. scan your whole surroundings and touch all of your body.

heres 2 vids on deepening and maintaining a lucid
