      A strange dream.

I had the strangest dream. I remember having a dram before I was woken up at around 4AM (this wasn't scheduled by the way, my Dad woke me up when he was making a coffee) and soon after waking up, I was going to write in my dream journal, but was too tired to even move and just went straight back to sleep.

In my second dream, I was writing my dream journal, and I was recalling all the events of the previous dream and I was writing it down. I couldn't read what I was writing but it was definitely everything that took place in the first dream. It was so real I woke up, and expected a journal entry to be there. Of course it wasn't, and I got a bit weirded out about this. I definitely wasn't lucid, but I didn't exactly know I was dreaming until I checked my dream journal and realised I hadn't actually written anything.

Is there a special term for this? Or is it just a really weird dream. Thanks for all the help in advance .

weird dream. I've had similar, half waking up and trying to recall my previous dream then falling asleep and still recalling it, lol. Then you wake up for real and it's like "damn I have to write it all again?"

Yeah it as like that lol. I thought I'd remembered everything and written it all down perfectly because it was so vivid, but that was actually just a dream... And when I woke up I could only remember snippets of my previous dream as well. It was a bummer because I remember the previous dream was really interesting.

What you experienced was a False Awakening. That's when you "wake up" in a dream and think it's RL. This can result in possible bed-wetting and doing things over again (like you). But this can also result in lucid dreams. Whenever I wake up I try to do a reality check, like plugging my nose and trying to breathe or look at text then look back to see if it has changed. If you do this you can become lucid in a dream quite easily.

      Good Luck!

Wow, I didn't know I was that close. Next time something like that happens I'll be sure to do a reality check. Thanks!
