      Paragraphing...

      1.)
Paragraphing is the "art" of breaking up one's thread with "[enter]" spaces rather than jus leaving it one big long essay to read. I encourage all "newbies" to the DV forum to practice good paragraphing, otherwise you can expect to have zero replies to your threads...

See how I just made a space between my two paragraphs? I shall demonstrate what this thread would look like without good paragraphing being practiced...Good paragraphing allows the reader to "breathe" and start back up where they left off...Now, the demonstration of "good paragraphing" will begin.

Under the wall of "=" symbols I will post the exact same post without good paragraphing being practiced...

Now I pose the question...which number (1 or 2) was more "fun" to read??

Agreed, but I think it's worth noting that for longer works the second paragraph would be far more appropriate. Your second option, give or take a few lines, allows one to express their ideas into organized chunks. Trying to write a tutorial without going over 3 lines a paragraph would be, in my opinion, far too choppy to have a good organization and natural flow of ideas.

Somebody around here gets it. I think mods should delete giant posts without line breaks.

Even small posts without line breaks are stupid.

Bump. This post needs a sticky in my opinion...it is important to note that "good paragraphing" must be practiced by all "newbies" if they want their questions answered. Nobody likes to read long posts without line breaks, as Vertebrate said. Not even me and i try to do my best to read those posts...

This was a very valuable post. People such as myself who lose interest easily, are much more likely to read the whole post/thread. It also makes it easier to keep place.

Yeah, I hope more people understand and learn this "art". DV community is very helpful and people always read even longest non-paragraphed texts, but be kind and divide the text to paragraphs. It will be much more pleasant to read for everyone
