Ok, well so far Lucid Dreaming is the closest I've come to finding an explanation for what I see. This has happened maybe 4 or 5 times over the last 6 to 8 months. I have just gotten up (often not long before I have to get up for work) for a bio trip (I am back in bed each time). I'm still awake but then I start seeing a video. It is framed like a TV shape but without any real clear boundaries. It does not take up my entire mind's eye (doesn't fill my entire vision, outside of that is pretty much nothing/black I guess). The first three times it was black/white/grey (no colors). This morning it was more like Sepia. Now for the subject matter and more detail...

Mind you, I know very well that I am lying in bed watching this and that I have not really fallen asleep yet. Each time it happens I am aware of my wife next to me breathing and any other noises in the room. This is also nothing like dreaming that I can ever remember. I also have no control that I can tell, over the subject or anything. This is like watching someone elses (poorly filmed) home video without them telling you what it is about.

The first one was really bland, like looking at a bike trail (oh these are also not necessarily smooth, they have what looks like jumpy frame rates usually). I don't remember trees or much detail at all. I don't remember the 2nd one very well, it was quite short. I wanted to see more and tried to make it happen but I can't seem to do that. It just happens when it happens. There are no drugs or alcohol involved. One of the first two times this happened, I was actually just about to go to sleep... I am very close to sleep when this happens.

The third one ended with a sort of weird looking... person or even alien. Well this morning it was a bit different. It was Sepia tinted. There was a lot of detail in a brick house or some sort of building and there was a person (I think a girl) with a light winter jacket and scarf. The bricks in the building behind her were all sorts of shapes (this is more detail then I've seen so far, maybe there was foliage too). These videos last maybe a minute I guess, if that. Maybe 30 sec. Visual is the only sensory here. There is no communication, no noise, no smells. They do not see me, they may as well be on TV. When this hits I immediately want to watch (because I have been hoping for it to happen so I can try to figure it out) and it is not like I can simply pick apart the details in the video, my concentration is all I can to to hold the image. Well it seems that way, maybe I'll try to "loosen up" next time.

So.... any thoughs? Sorry for such a long first post. Thanks in advance for your replys.
