This happended to me twice: I was in my dream faced with monsters. In both dreams I started out without means of defending myself. |

Muse.v is right. The only "regulation" for a dream to be a lucid dream is that you're aware that you're dreaming. It doesn't really matter whether you can control it or not. Sometimes you have normal dreams you can control and sometimes you have lucid ones you can't control. |

Don't think about those damn kangaroos.
The same thing has happened to me several times. Sometimes I somehow know I have some control over a situation by imagining or pretending things, but I'm not aware of actually being asleep in my bed. |

If I would try really hard to discribe it, It was like "hey wait ! I dont have to run. I'm suposed to be able to make anything happen". Like that. Its really very hard to put it any other way. |

If you knew you were dreaming, you were lucid. At some point I had what someone called a Semi-Lucid, where I wasn't officially lucid, but I was aware that I could control my surroundings. The term is rather vague, but still.... |

"If there was one thing the lucid dreaming ninja writer could not stand, it was used car salesmen."
It seems as if this might qualify as a very strong dream sign. Next time you feel like you have power over something, do a reality check. Then, you'll do it in a dream and possibly go lucid. |

Ignorant bliss is an oxymoron; but so is miserable truth.

Jeff, I've had dreams where I could control situations- but trust me, an LD is totally different. You will definitely know. The first time I realized I was lucid, was right in the midst of a dream when I actually realized that I was dreaming. The realization of this was so incredible- that I almost awoke right then and there. What I was dreaming of suddenly had no significance and slowly faded into obscurity- yet, I was still standing right in the middle of this neighborhood street in the dead of night with this awesome realization and power. I experimented a little- but the realization was so overwhelming, that to my discontent, I awoke. It is so life-like real, that I had to create a small LD test, before I start experimenting with any LD, just to make sure that it is an LD and not a real life situation. The test I use to insure that I'm really dreaming- is to jump straight up in the air. If I can count up to at least 3 seconds before landing back on my feet- it's an LD. Then the fun begins. I'll get into more detail in the proper forum- as to some of my experiences and techniques that I use. Goodluck in you quest. |
