Hey, I've been interested in Lucid Dreaming for a long time, actually been keeping a Dream Journal for a year or so, but only been doing it really serious for 2 months. So far I've had 5 DILD's and my favorite Reality Check is the nose pinching, it works all the time for me. But I also have a question (Don't know if I'm supposed to post it here already or not but I'll just try). I have this person that is ALWAYS in my dreams, Lucid or not. And he's the only one with a real personality. He used to be pretty shy, but now he's getting more happy and relaxed with me. I once asked him if he's my Dream Guide, but he said no. But I keep getting this feeling that he said that to protect me or something... I want to ask him again next time I have a LD, but I would still like some opinions. Do you guys think he's a DG or just a normal DC that's more developed then the rest? Anyway, I hope to learn a lot more on this forum. Nice to meet you all.

always possible it's someone attempting to share a dream, but if he's not a DG (and if he's no dreamer) he may be just a well developed dc that has stuck with you for some time.

Some people believe that DCs like this are projections of your subconscious, some go so far as to say that you have no control over them. I don't have any recurring characters in my dreams that aren't just friends of mine. I don't see any reason to believe that DGs are any less controllable than any other DC. I also wouldn't say it's a shared dreamer. If you want to read more about shared dreaming there are boards specifically for that, as it is a controversial topic that some people believe in.

I suggest you use that person as a dreamsign. Visualize yourself meeting him and questioning reality. Do this several times a day and you will most likely ask yourself if you're dreaming next time you meet him If he's a DG or not, no one can say. People with different beliefs will tell your different things. He does seem to fulfil the criteria for a Dream Guide. I suggest you just enjoy his company for as long as you can and try to get to know him better. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Hi Felina, in your case since he told you he's not your DG I would be asking WHO is he. If you have the opportunity I would ask him who he is a second or third time just to see how stable he is. if he gives you a different answer each time you ask could simply be... you in a different form ( even if every person you dream about is ultimately you)

This is what many people do wrong, they assume they've found their DG just because any DC they conjure up says yes. IF a DG exists as an actual guide and not just a DC, then he/she/it will find you and introduce itself to you when he/she/it feels you're ready. It's sad how so many people have ruined the "specialness" of the word. If a DG exists, I doubt many people have actually met it. I would think the most desperate or experienced dreamers have, but that's just me.

I'll try to use him as a Dream Sign for sure. But Matte, you kind of confuse me... In one post you say he meets the criteria, but in this last post you say that only desperate and experienced dreamers meet them. And I can asure you I'm not desperate or experienced (Only been at it for 2 months seriously now) But thanks for the reactions everyone!

He meets the criteria for a DG, yes. My post wasn't intended for you really, and I apologise if you were offended by it. If you've seen him that many nights and if DG's are real, he might be one. I wouldn't draw conclusions too fast though (like too many people do, with just calling out "DG appear!" and expect him to be one) but just let him introduce himself to you. A DG imo, comes to you when you're in need or when you're ready. But as nothing has been proven really, it's up to each and everyone how we interpret it all
