      Hello, new here

      Hi,

I was finally able to register (a few days ago the forum seemd to be having problems).

Anyways, I learned about Lucid Dreaming a few years ago after having one and talking about it at a dinner party. One person directed me towards a page for the Lucidity Institute (http://www.lucidity.com). I read a bit about the subject and even kept a dream journal for awhile. I had a semi sleep related dream once but it didn't really feel real and I actually woke up during the experience.

I hadn't given it any more shots during a long time until last week when I was chatting wiht a friend about it and he reminded me of it and told me about this website. That same afternoon while taking a nap I had another Lucid Dream. The setting just didn't make sense; the place I was dreaming about was inacuratte) so I realized I was dreaming. I kinda panicced this time and tried to wake myself up. I remember feeling my body but I couldn't move it.

I then experienced a false awakening where I woke up in my room and for some reason I had a horse in my room which started to follow me around my living room licking my head (that felt real and weird). Then for some reason I got back in bed and my mom poped her head in the room and told me to wake up (she usually wakes me up in the mornings and it always takes her a few tries to get me out of bed), at which point I really did, only to realize that no one was at the door and my mom wasn't even at home.

Anyway, that's my experience. I've had about a total of 3 or 4 lucid dreams in my life. Right now I don't think my dream recall is that good but mostly because there was a time that I always had bad dreams and I always remembered them. They weren't really nightmares, but they weren't pleasent, and I remember not wanting to go to sleep because I hated dreaming at that time.

      Welcome on board Outbound!

Glad your friend pointed you here. False awakenings are truly amazing things. They are so believable!

It's good that you are working on your lucidity again, but EVERYTIME you wake up, please perform a reality check. A lot of people miss out on the opportunity to have very vivid lucid dreams because they thought they have woken up.

I've found that almost all of my false awakenings are very vivid.

      Welcome!

Hey Welcome Outbound and try to enjoy your stay!

I once had a 3 false awakinings in a row and It never occured to me to do a realiy check for any of them. Strangly I was lucid twice in that dream without those 3 extra times. It was funny to wake up and realize that your dream journ was empty because you recorded it in your false awakining.

Hahahaha, I've had similar things happen to me.

Now that I remember, I've had a bunch of false awakenings before. I'm just sad that I didn't know about Lucid Dreaming a few years ago because there was a time when I had the most vivid dreams which I would always remember.

And thanks for being all so helpfull.
