      I need a better RC

      I had my first full lucid last night. During the lucid I decided to check the RC I had been using. I tried to stick my finger through. It failed to go through my palm. It felt exactly as it does when I am awake. This is probably because I expect it to not go through. What is an RC that will not affected by preconceptions?

      Plugging your nose and attempting to breathe (with your mouth closed of course) is generally a highly reliable reality check. If you can still breath you are dreaming. It also feels cool. The only times I have failed with that are when my nose is clogged. In my dreams, I can always jump much higher than I normally can. Gravity can be a good reality check if its something that is different for you in dreams.

      The best reality check (In my opinion) is to try and remember everything up to the current point in time. It should be rather apparent that you are dreaming (or have severe memory problems) if you cannot remember such a thing.
