      Hello from cathryn

      Hi guys!

I just joined this sight a few weeks ago but I have been lurking on it for a while. I really want to become an expert on lucid dream. I have been obsessing over my dreams for the past 6 months I would say. I have amazing dream recall and have been semi lucid a shit load of times and lucid a good amount of times. I remember being lucid a lot when I was a child and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. I have had dream journals since I was about 12. Never have I been so obsessed with it as I do now though.

It sucks because dreams are not something you can share with other people. Its a very solitary experience. Plus I dont know anyone besides me who lucid dreams, so it is nice to be a member on a website where I can talk to people about it. If anyone ever wants to send me a message feel free. :

I'm a newbie! But not a newbie to dreams I just need to learn to become more lucid more often! Don't we all??

      -Cathryn

Also can someone tell me how to put a picture on my profile??

Hey cmmgibson. Your story reminds me of mine. I had some lucid dreams as a child but I thought they probably were false memories until I found DV that blew my mind about the subject. Here you'll find everything you need to get wherever you want with your dreams, and when theory isn't enough it's plenty of really kind, patient people around here to ask for help.

      Why do think so?

Philosopher I say that because everyone who is spending their time posting on this website does so for the sake of attaining more lucidity and exploring more about the topic. I don't think i 'need' to become more lucid. I just have a burning desire to explore my spiritual side more. I don't want to become lucid to play out fantasies of my waking ego, like a lot of people aim to do. I want to become more lucid to gain more insight regarding my higher self. I believe dreams tell stores of the future and past. They can giving us warning and guidance. The more I explore into my dream symbols, the more fulfilled my waking life as become.

You have many preconcieved notions as to what it is all about. Where did you get these ideas?

Why would someone spend their time on this website if they did not want to explore the topic of lucidity more? Isn't that the point of an online community? Or maybe I am just assuming too quickly..
Many of the 'preconcieved notions' I get are from exploring people's posts on this site.

If you specified exactly what preconcieved notions you are talking about, I will be happy to explain. But right now I am not sure why you are confused.

Well, that you think you have a spirit, as opposed to the fact that you construct spirit, or will. Or that there is your higher self, as if there were more than one of you. These ideas. How did you arrive at them?

You see, I make a distinction between what I am, what I do, and what I have. I am not what I may have.

You see, someone, whom I take as having been very wise, is reported to once said that a house divided against itself cannot stand. So I am careful not to imply that I am more or other than what I am.

Someone once illustrated to me that human minds and existence are like ice bergs. The tip of the ice berg is comparable to consciousness, and the rest of the large submerged ice berg that we cannot see can be compared to our unconscious. I do believe I have a spirit, and a higher self. However, what I am referring to is my unconscious. I don't believe we are aware of everything about who we really are. I believe this because I have first hand experience with this kind of theory. The more I uncover about my self, the more everything starts to make more sense and fall into place.
