      Hey everyone :)

      Hey everyone, just thought I'd introduce myself. My name's Bryan, and I've been interested in lucid dreaming for a while now.

      I've been trying on and off for about a month for lucid dreams now, although I've only lasted a couple of days with a dream journal before either forgetting about it, or giving up because I wasn't having any success with dream recall. but now I'm making a permanent effort

      Just have a couple of questions, thanks in advance for anyone that answers them;

      1. Currently I'm doing reality checks often in waking life, and also keeping a dream journal in an effort to remember dreams, notice recurring themes that occur etc. So far I've noticed that I cycle a lot in dreams, and also that whenever I'm inside, the lights usually switch off. Is there anything else I should be doing besides that? Or should I wait until my dream recall is better before I begin trying any techniques?

      2. How long does it generally take to experience a first lucid dream. I've had a couple when I was a kid, and four "almost" lucid dreams in the past month.
      a; Woke up after a couple of seconds. Was walking through a dark forest.
      b; Was in school. Woke up as my mind was realising it was a dream.
      c; I was falling, and then realised it was a dream. But then I died and woke up.
      d; I had a false awakening, and for some reason thought "I'm goin to do WILD now". It took about five seconds, and I was lucid in a "dream within a dream". I slowly opened my eyes to prevent the dream dissolving, but got distracted because my friend had a broken leg and we needed to help him (In the dream of course )
      But I haven't had any that have lasted a long time, like a minute or more. How long do you guys think before I begin getting better at it?

      Thanks again for any response in advance, and happy dreaming

      Hmmm... at first when i began lucid dreaming i could only stay in the dream for a short while. sometimes i still stay in the dream for only a few minutes.

      Anyway i think it'll just take time before youy can fully experience a lucid dream. try doing something that will make your body more fatigud that way you'll sleep longer

      You see, that's why I like the concept of lucid dreaming. It's easier if you're tired at the end of the day, so it forces you to work harder, and achieve more in real life. So lucid dreaming works in more than one way, really

      I will keep up with my dream journal until I'm getting vivid dreams a lot more often. Then I'll probably start using some techniques, maybe MILD to begin with, before trying other techniques later on, such as WILD, when I'm more experienced.
