      Hello everyone

      Hello Dreamviews members

      I'm Laurens.

My first lucid experience started when I was 11 years old.In that experience I went on a holiday with my parents and I could decide on where we'd go on our trip, there were a lot of different landscapes. One moment we'd walk through a desert, the other we'd go up the stairs of our house, the next we'd sit in the sun to barbeque. The age of 11 was also the age where I had a stroke with some brain damage as result. (Car accident)

Waking up I remember having had a strong dream, which I can still remember like it was yesterday. Fascinated by it i fixated myself on it, "what was that, how, etcetera". A bit overwhelmed by the fact that that dream did not get forgotten. In my fixation on that dream I dreamt a similar dream beginning 2 times afterwards. Each time being stronger than any other LD I've experienced. I only payed attention to dreams when they came on strong, and for some reason a lot of my dreams, the experiences, I remember afterwards.

At age of 15 I met someone who had some fascinating experienced with dreaming aswell. Concerning OBE. This was a certain point in my life where I started to focus myself on the "fascinating life of the mind", and monitor it's every move. This person would literally degrade my every way of thinking, and show me something greater, (to be more exact), more complete. Ever since I met that person I've never met a similar person/way of thinking (literally)/dreaming. This formed my life phylosophy about the higher our mental state/lower phsical state the more human we become. To me she was something highly developed beyond compare, or simply someone extremely skilled. This person passad away at young age, illness.

In the last few years I've experimented with a lot of different things. One thing worth mentioning was having a LD when you're in extreme fear - home alone in a thunderstorm.

Something I'm good at when having an LD is, when I wake up (for example, when I go to the bathroom, toilet), I can continue my dream almost instantly. It does however require a certain focus. I do not know what this technique is called, all of these new terms of LD are new to me, but i'm happy to learn more

What kind of pushed me of coming here was last night, I only slept with a blanket and it was a little cold, I was unable to get a firm sleep and I slipped in and out a lot of different dreams, the last two i had control in. This is something I've experienced a few times aswell. I read something about the short REM sleeps at start, and the long REM sleeps at the ending, and how you can regulate this and benefit from this. Maybe it was this phaenomenom, but I wasn't able to get much from it anyway.

After this I was like... "Hmmm... who to talk to..." Let's ask google and see for people. And then I found this forum with people and classifications about LD (can you imagin that!!?? that's just super) I hope this is not a place where people are being classified aswell.

I do like the main of not having to waste 25 years of your life to "resting". Tho it's not completely wasted, even if you're not LD'ing.

You will have to excuse me for the spelling mistakes, my mother language is Dutch, I am from Belgium.

To me, we become more human when we leave our physical formes. To return to our original minds, loose from physical limitations, illusions, boxes. To me the level of LD, the place where LD takes place is our place of origin. LD is a springboard to something greater.

I'm looking forward to meeting you guys.

      L.

Hi, welcome to dream views! Lol, google really does solve everything doesn't it? My first LD happened when I was 7 and involved and angry mob from my school.

I think waking up in the middle of the night and starting a new LD is either a DEILD or a WBTB just so you know. During that thunderstorm by the way, unless you were hallucinating or having actual sleep paralysis, I don't think that was an actual WILD. A WILD is usually done in a very peaceful environment, but the hallucinations and sleep paralysis is what would make it frightening.

Hello, about that thunderstorm. I've been scared of thunderstorms since I was a kid. Some things happened etc. On the other hand they inspire, fascinate me so much. I can realy enjoy them when I have someone near, as in very very relaxed. Besides LD'ing there are some things to achieve with thinking aswel, for me, facing that fear and making it even bigger until the point where I could not handle it any more was a very strong moment. It makes brings your thinking to another way of experiencing and seeing things. Ever since my stroke I've felt very distant from many things, emotions do not last, unless being constantly reminded of them, so much things slip my mind, there's no value priority towards the forgetting aswell. Which is frustrating and hard for others to understand. So LD and the world of thought are great places.
