Exclamation Hey there, thanks for having me!

This is my first post and after this afternoons little cat nap I'm hoping someone may be able to shed some light on my experience. During the nap I was semi awoken by what felt like waves of electric charge pulsating from my head to my feet. I was dreaming at the same time and became conscious of the feeling to the point where I had the choice to open my eyes or stay with the feeling so I choose to stay! As I relaxed into it I was able to enter my dream again and manipulate it which i've never done before. The charge increased in intensity to the point where i consciously thought "i could turn the lights on with this feeling!". I let it go until I couldn't handle the pulsating anymore, opening my eyes to make it stop. Very curious as to any information anyone has about this. Cheers..

This sounds like Sleep Paralysis. I had a similar experience in that I woke up straight into SP, and instead felt a strong upwards force on me, which got stronger and stronger to the point where it was too much to handle, then I woke up.

When you said you were able to enter the dream again, but you still felt the pulsating, it sounds like you were drifting in and out of SP, but not fully in the dream. This is basically a DEILD (Dream-Exit Induced Lucid Dream), and there are tutorials on how to DEILD successfully in the Wiki (found in the navigation bar at the top of the page).

      Hope this helps,
      ShockWave.

Did this just happen spontaneously? Or were you actively trying to have a lucid dream?

I wasn't trying to do anything other than have a cat nap. I've experienced sleep paralysis before for several months after a traumatic incident but this was different. Im aware of lucid dreaming and SP. It felt like a set of waves with electrical charges rolling in over my body, I was completely aware of the TV in the background and could easily move. Im looking for other insights if you have any. Thanks for replying
