Some people have set alarms on their watches, other ideas include:

Adding it to your Outlook Calendar
Putting a dot on the back of your hand
Putting a sticky note where you will see it
Getting a dreamviews business card and keeping it in your wallet where you wll see it often
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

(or) get a wristwatch with an alarm, or my favourite (kindof like putting a dot on your hand?) write "lucid dream" across your fingers. also a great way to spread the word, as someone will probably ask you about it.

I'm assuming that you mean during the day- while awake? If that's the case, then a RC should be done as often as possible, anytime you see the particular sign you've chosen as a trigger. And of course this trigger or sign, should be something that occurs often in your dreams. And that may be easily determined if you're keeping a dream journal.

I would just keep my journal by my bedside to serve as a reminder in the morning... then after waking up in the morn, before getting out of bed, I'd tell myself that I'm making it a point thru out the day, to do RCs everytime I see my sign. And then try to remain at least semi-focused on this goal thru out the day. Eventually in time, it will come naturally. But you must start somewhere- and being focused on your objective thru out the day, is the key.

I for one don't do them while awake. I do RCs exclusively within the dream. But the sys I use may be a little unconventional for some. What I've done is trained myself thru pure suggestion, on recognizing ANYTHING out of the ordinary in my dream, as a trigger sign. Signs such as flying, floating, out-of this-world leaps and jumps and so on. If I pick up on one of these signs in my dream- then I become Lucid and then do a reliable simple RC that's always worked for me. And that's simply to stand upright and jump straight up into the air. If I count up to 3 seconds and I've not landed on my feet yet- then I know I'm dreaming and the fun begins.

This system however, relies heavily on being keen about what's going on in your dream. And the only way to become that keen and pick up on these various signs- is by being on top of your dream recollection game. Something that I need to get into again- to become more keen and focused within my own dreams.

That being the case- sometimes I pick up on these signs and sometimes I don't. But I like this method because it doesn't concentrate on one certain sign- but rather on a little more variety. And I don't have to worry about doing RCs during my being-awake hours.

Hopefully this will help a little..... good luck.
