      An excellent Reality Check method

In this post http://www.dreamviews.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14885 FMprime said to write "are you dreaming?" down your index finger.

      I tried this method today.

I've never been good with remembering to do checks, but this method works.

I did more reality checks in this one day than I have in probably a week.

So to any newbs out there (like myself) give this a try.

      Much thanks to FMprime

      Welcome Valo

That can work quite well for some, to at least get into the rythme and habit of reality checking. That really helps, and you might also find that you become 'naturally' lucid for no apparent reason. The reason is that the reality checks trained you to be naturally suspicious of reality

Anyway, good post. Enjoy your stay

Don't forget, though. If the words on your hand are ever illegible or say something else, you're dreaming. It's no use having an RC without making sure to go beyond looking and really be sure

      Good point.

The writing on my hand eventually got skewed, but when that happened I was still reminded to check, so I would look at a clock or the nearest writing I could find

Seeker, you looking for a tatoo? (probably not, but it's a suggestion)

And benhat, I'm sure you've heard this a lot, but just relax. When you realize you're dreaming, just stop and take it all in and it'll be smoooooth sailing from then on

Yeah this really sounds like a great idea!

But Amethyst Star having a tatoo on ones finger is a brilliant idea! and would maybe be the best RC there is! Text on the hand you can rely on everyday trougout your entire life. Maybe write "Am i dreaming" on latin or something just to have the fancy look + people wouldnt know what it meant unless they asked.

The only down side would be if it become to stable maybe or something after awhile.

This is the first time im thinking about getting a tatoo

Just keep in mind, all you tatoo-desiring people (myself included), be careful where you get them. I'm going to work for Sea World a bit this summer and one of their rules is that employees can't have any visible tatoos or strange (visible) piercings. And make sure it's a tatoo you're willing to keep for the rest of your life.

One more thing to consider, some reality checks may not work after being used for so often, so you'd have to think of if you'd still like to have "Are you dreaming?" on your hand.

I think the idea of a tattoo (especially in latin) is an excellent idea. I think i'm going to get that done.

in a worst case scenario. if i get too accustomed to using that as a method of recall, i'll just get a new tattoo
