      I have a question for you guys/girls :)

Hello everyone! Im new here so im just going to lay down the scenario:

Through the whole of saturday I had been thinking of Lucid Dreaming. Probably for about 2/3 of the day so last night I went to bed and through doing RCs quite alot and really thinking about if I was dreaming I expected something special. I had about 3 fragmented dreams before my lucid one... If you can call it that.

My question is, was it lucid? I shall now tell you what happened in the dream:

I was stood inside a kind of space station and i looked around on the walls and noticed there were large tiles with letters on. If you walked into one of the tiles then you would come out of another tile with a different letter on (I walked through 'A' and came through 'S') after messing about with these portal type things i stopped and looked around and I noticed that everything was going black so I thought the dream was fading which made me touch my surroundings and the colour came back to the dream. I did the spinning technique aswell just to mkae sure the dream was grounded. Next I told myself to fly but decided against it as in my first lucid experience a few weeks back I awoke as i got in the air. I wanted this dream to go on longer so I decided to explore the area.

After exploring for a while I came across 2 men who had shotguns who looked like friends from my school. As soon as I saw them I decided to chase them and one of them tripped down the stairs and I think were killed. I took the shotgun and the other man escaped.

After exploring a bit more I came across some more men and one girl, now, heres the odd part. Through the whole of the dream, while passing every corner I imagined that this one girl, lets call her 'X' was going to appear for me. As I saw these people this girl was 'X'. I killed off the men and asked X if she was ok and said I'd saved her. She said she didnt want to do anything but i got hold of her and she suddenly changed her mind and went with it. Just as we were about to get started some people walked trough the door and stopped us but I also killed them off. I went to take off her belt but then awoke!!

I think my awakening may have been because I was too focused on the belt but I'd like to know form the experts point of view. Was that a Lucid and why did I awake. Throughout the whole dream i do not remember doing an RC.

Hi and welcome! That was definitely a Lucid If you knew you were dreaming, it counts as a Lucid Dream. Why you woke up was because of excitement. This is why having sex in a LD is so hard. You pay attention to the fact that you're in a dream and you're doing something so awesome. By paying attention to that fact, you will wake yourself up. Try to just go with the flow next time, but imo you did a GREAT job already.

Not everyone can have so lengthy and action packed LD's the first times, so congratulations! Make sure you write it down in your DJ with a few nice colours so you can re-read it later on.

If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Hi and thanks for the reply. The method i want to use for lucid dreaming is DILD and i was wondering how to do an awareness check properly. I read some threadsa about it last night and today i was playing golf so i looked round and took in the sights/sounds while doing an RC. Is this the correct way to do an awareness session?

You should be critical to everything in your surrounding. Really make sure you take your time and question what you see/hear/feel/smell and taste. Memory check and then do the RC. You can try the All Day Awareness technique aswell. Make sure you RC properly atleast 20 times a day.

When you're Lucid in the dream, make sure you activate your senses. Rubbing your hands is effective. Also yelling out: "Clarity increase!"

ADA or All Day Awareness is a technique where you practice the duration of the lucid process within waking life. Essentially the idea is that by repeating the process it will carry into your dreams.

Here is a thread on it : http://www.dreamviews.com/f12/all-da...gyoshi-113253/
