Well it helps me to do a reality check immediately after becoming lucid, then perform some kind of stabilization. For example you could first put your fingers on your nose, try to breathe, then spin around to stabilize the dream. Doing these things tends to break me away from the flow of the dream plot and become more rational. From that point you can just focus on the fact that you are dreaming. Generally as people gain more experience with lucid dreaming they can stay in the dream longer without losing lucidity or waking up. |
