Thread: Guides for a New Guy

Hey guys,
im really interested in the concept of lucid dreaming. I really want to give it a try im 15 from England and can remember most of my dreams. I think ive had lucid dreams before well once and Ive even flew but this was purely by chance lucidity. Id love for someone to help me with the techniques or give me some pointers. Ive read some tutorials but I was wundring if anyone could give me some guidence?

It's very good that you're good in remembering your dreams as it's one of the main keys to lucidity. I would recommend that first you start a dream journal if you don't already have one. Keeping a dream journal already helps to attain lucidity.

The best method to start with is propably reality checking. When you're awake, do a reality check every now and then to see whether you're dreaming or not. If you do a lot of them, you will most likely remember to do one when dreaming. In my opinion the best reality check is pinching your nose and trying to breath through it. In dream you should be able to breath.

Different techniques work for different people, though, so it's hard to tell people what to start with. Check out MILD or WILD and try one for a week or so and see if either work for you at all, as they're the general methods of initiation.

Personally I would suggest MILD combined with WBTB. That's worked best for me, but as Ame said, you've got to find what works best for you.
