      n00b @ lucidity

so, i just recently started trying to lucid dream. i've had one so far and my dream recall is now daily as opposed to before when i would remember dreams maybe 4 times a month.

it's been hard for me to try and start lucid dreaming because it took me a while to even get my dream recall up. i used to be there was something wrong with me because i wasn't able to dream every night, but here i learned i was just doing everything wrong.

anyway, it'd be cool to have someone on here to talk to, to ask for questions and whatnot. because i really want to be able to lucid dream at least weekly because it seems really cool. it should be much easier now considering school is over.

      thanks for reading

      Welcome to the forum

Ask away, there's plenty of people here willing to help. Also you should check out the wiki section of the site, there's a bunch of information about the different techniques and such . It'll probably answer most of your questions.

      Welcome to DV.
That's impressive you raised your recall that greatly, nice job
Just keep persistent with trying to LD.
If you have any specific questions feel free to PM me, another Dream Guide, or ask on here.

      Hello, Miss fouxdafafa.

Welcome! I myself am new here too. I started my "mental training", per se, about two weeks ago. I've bolstered my dream recall to at least one dream a night, sometimes as high as 3 a night. I've had 3 lucid dreams so far, one on the second day (or night, rather) of training, and the other two pretty much spread out. I should be due for another one soon.

Have you tried MILD before? For some reason I think it's actually having a negative impact on my dream recall! For example, last night when I tried it I woke up at morning, and couldn't remember anything. To stick to my at-least-one-dream-a-night goal I went back to sleep, this time without using MILD but rather just trying to relax myself and I got one dream before waking.

I'll try MILD one more time, (it'll be my third go with MILD) and if it impairs my recall again or doesn't conjure a lucid dream, I'm going to have to switch to something else.

      Good luck!

EDIT: Well, according to the DV database, scratching an itch is okay when trying MILD.

I'm the kind of person that moves a lot before going to sleep, trying to find a good position and having to scratch constantly. The previous two times I tried MILD involved me forcing myself to ignore all the itching I was getting, WHICH WAS ALOMST UNBEARABLE!!! I know I get so close to dreaming because I can feel the paralysis taking over me. All the itching keeps bothering me while I'm tring to sleep.

Knowing it's okay to scratch I guess I'll give MILD a few more tries.... and put on a little lotion to minimize itching.
