I guess ill say Hello :D

Hello I'm BeeDreaming and I am rather new to this site. I've read alot of information on LD and can't wait to have my first. I just wanted to say Hello to everyone and i had a question. Do you think its possible to do the WILD technique right when you go to bed? I know I've tried it before and have reached partial SP but not full. Just wondering. By the way this site is awesome Has tons of information. Very nice website, best I've seen.

      Hi BeeDreaming! Welcome to DV!

It CAN work when you first go to bed, but only very rarely, and it's been proven to be far more effective during a WBTB (wake back to bed). I was just re-reading LaBerge's chapter on it last night in Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming, and he gives loads of stats to prove it. For first going to sleep a better technique would be DILD or MILD.

      Hey, welcome to DV. =D

Puffin's Beginner's Guide To Lucid Dreaming is a great place to start learning about lucid dreams. You should also browse the Tutorial section when you get the chance, it's full of information, tips, and in-depth guides. On top of that, you can also visit the DV Academy for further guidance - the DVA Professors will teach you everything you'll ever need to know about lucid dreaming.

You might also want to get into the habit of performing reality checks (maybe two or three) throughout your day, you'll eventually start doing them in dreams and become lucid. I usually count my fingers but feel free to look up other methods and see which works best for you. I'd also recommend keeping a dream journal; regularly recording your dreams is a great way to improve to improve recall and you'll be able to notice common themes and patterns which can further help you attain lucidity.

We also have an off-topic section as well where you can discuss anything from books, movies, tv shows, philosophy, current events, etc so be sure to visit that part of the forum as well. If you ever get bored or need to kill time, visit Senseless Banter. It's full of nonsensical threads like forum games and the SB frequenter's are a friendly bunch so feel free to drop in sometime. We also have an IRC Chat Server which can be found near the top of the forum index. 'tis lulz.

It's possible but it doesn't work often and the dream will probably be unstable unless you're really good at stabilizing dreams. Like Darkmatters, I'd recommend attempting a WILD during a WBTB period. When you wake up to go to the bathroom or whatever, when you climb back in bed, lay there and relax. Remember to clear your mind and either focus on your breathing, counting, or whatever method you prefer. Whatever you do, don't think too hard about anything in particular or you'll end up wide awake and miss your chance to WILD.

The ones i do are plugging ur nose, write a letter on your hand and look at it and i think ill start counting my fingers like you : D My dream recall is getting better every night I've started a dream journal couple of nights ago and have been able to recall at least one dream a night if not more. Thank you for all the great info . Nice pic btw . I love Derpy : D

Hello, welcome to dreamviews like others have said it is possible to do it before bed but really hard. I would definitely recommend doing a WBTB before you WILD. Good luck!

Are you keeping a dream journal? Very important. Also, hang out here on the board and read posts... look at people's DJ's... anything that can help keep LDing foremost in your mind and keep giving you fresh insight into it.

      Good luck with it!!!

      Hi, welcome to DV.

Be sure to fill in every detail you can remember from dreams in your DJ. Not just events, sights, sounds, smells, feelings, colors, temperatures, thoughts. Everything you can remember. Doing this with every dream will make it easier for your memory to remember in more detail later on.

WILDing right before sleep isn't vary probable....i would suggest waiting a few hours after sleep, and it is still difficult then, especially for beginners.
      good luck !
