      ? "Hello World!"

      A basic hello here.

I've been interested in Lucid Dreaming for its possibilities, but for years never realized it required work. A few years ago i got and read LaBerge's books, and intended to keep a dream journal which i only slightly kept to. I've had a couple LDs in the past, but woke up due to excitement. That's the old history.

More recently, i was reading a site with random things where one was the author's LD experience. He posted one about flying by flapping his wings (due to his mindset) and i was intrigued yet again, perhaps more intently. That night i had an LD. I recognized the dream sign (watch letters moving) went outside and attempted to fly. I was mildly successful before i woke up feeling wonderful. Feeling-wise, knowing i had an LD was more wonderful than the LD itself.

I guessed reading about it awoke my interest, causing the awareness. That should mean that getting involved talking about these things could help me attain lucidity in the future. I googled lucid dream forums and looked at the first three.

The first i looked at (ordering whatever) didn't look promising, not many replies, content mostly from wikipedia, and so on. This is number two. The depth of the site and thread counts are quite amazing. Now, i'm looking at replies. The question is, is the community here my style, that is, will it engage me.

I don't know what my involvement will be, it's much too early to tell. But for right now, i hope it helps me attain lucidity more often, give me tips on how to try things (nice tutorials here), and give me ideas for the future.

Either way, thanx for the nice site! It's good to know this community exists, and that the resources are available.

Welcome to dreamviews. I hope you do decide to stay. I quite like the community here, it's what has kept me around. Being interested in lucid dreams is actually one of the best lucid aids. If you can get yourself excited to lucid dream, chances are you will lucid dream more than someone who isn't excited about it. If you have any questions you can post them in this thread, elsewhere on the forums, or PM me.

      Spoiler for Hello World:

      I see, classy.

      For my next gem: write_to_dv_dj() foreach ($dream_journal);

I recorded a couple dreams, maybe i'll copy them to the DJ here to see what it sparks.

      Hi chacham,

Welcome to Dreamviews! It's great that you read LaBerge's books, they are very helpful.

The dream journal system here on the site is great, and I recommend you use it . Is your recall good? If you need some tips on remembering your dreams I would recommend checking out this dream recall tutorial.

I don't know if you have seen this, but we have a whole subject on lucid experiences! You can read about other's experiences here, or you could just check out other people's Dream Journals here.

Congrats on that lucid dream! Flying is so much fun, and I have actually created a tutorial on it you can see right here!

In my opinion, the community here is really great. Everyone is very helpful, kind, and we have a lot of active members. I hope to see you posting around! If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

Well, hopefully i will record a dream or two in the journal. Dreams can be quite personal, i'm curious how it will feel to open them up. Start slow i guess.

My flying was limited, i hope to post that in the journal, from my written source.

My recall is not so great. I've been reading about it though and hope to try the stillness protocol.

Yes, of course. You don't have to post every single one of your dreams

The stillness thing works very well, and works for a lot of people. Good luck
