If I can, you will for sure :-)

      Hi guys.

Maybe I could act as some kind of "test driver" or "lab rat" for others. If I can attain lucidity in my dreams with my TERRIBLE memory (my wife is telling me that I don't have any at all) than anyone of you can.
Well, don't feel too much elated as I still didn't have any LD / it's just a week since I started with my DJ and RCs.
I also started with prospective memory training as described in EWLD by LaBerge and Rheingold. For you - just to imagine HOW bad my memory is:
After quite succesful first day of test (about 75% of target hit), next day, after writing down my dreams, I didn't remeber at all to study new tasks for the day and didn't remember it till evening. So speak about 0% target hit (or 100% failure) and the same result I achieved next day as well... Ha - and you want me to remember to conduct RC in my dreams??? Well, I want ...
Anyway, just for you to know. I hope in some time I will be able to post here my first success with LD and thus make a lot of you guys happy.

Is your memory bad in other areas? Or just when it comes to dreaming? It will be interesting to see how your memory improves. Keep us updated

      Thanks for welcome.
My memory is weak almost in every area possible so I also wonder about possible changes.
At least I have a reason to really try to improve it. Until now I was kind satisfied with it and I learned to live with it's flaws.

Today I tried my first WILD. I know, too early since for example Mr. LaBerge suggests to start with lucidity induction methods only after good DR is a natural and easy, but I couldn't resist.
No, I didn't become lucid but - there is really something in it. It was pretty strange feeling. Looking forward another try.

      Guys, be happy!!!
      Because - you will!!!

Yes, today I had my first LD.
Nothing spectacular and for sure there is a lot of things I have to work on, but still...

I was on the run as somebody was running after me. Then in one point of dream I told myself that I don't need to run since this is a dream. I could fly instead. So I did. I swim through the air, then hold two small balloons which helped me to float. I told myself that since this is a dream, I don't need them and could fly without any device but somehow I keep to hold them. I poke fingers through them without bursting them and thought that it's quite interesting.
So even though I was aware of being in the dream, still some anxiety about surrounding and incomplete trust in my own power and safety persisted. So I have “few” things to work on next time. But more than that - I have now trust that I actually can reach lucidity even with my weak memory. What a relieve.

Here I am with the news.

Right, folks. Today I had a great lucid dream, my first one. Few weeks ago I had one dream I considered to be my first lucid but after today's experience I had to take it back and announce a new holder of title My First Lucid Dream.
I wasn’t lucid from the beginning to the end, I had some lucidity interruptions during the dream. Since it was extraordinary dream for me, I will write it down here completely as I remember it, so those of you who don’t like reading long stories could save a time and leave. For those interested in my night escapade, follow me further.

My dream started somewhere on the street, it also could be some kind of zoopark or garden as I see myself with my wife and daughter as we are looking over the fence. I don’t know what we are looking at though. When I want to continue walking further down the road, some man behind me steps on my slippah and it just rips. I turn around and see some guy in his 50’s. I express my displeasure but he seems unattached. My anger rises up and I almost start yell at him. He still doesn’t react so I just turn around and leave. He calls then something to me but I don’t react and he continue crying with significantly growing fret. I just don’t react.
Then we enter some restaurant and soon there is some bulky guy, apparently friend of that older man and wants to “discuss” my not replying to that man before. And other friends of him gather around me. Luckily they seem OK to listen to my side of the story first. So we stand in that pub around some table, and I realize – I know one of those guys. I tell him that he is friend of my elementaryschool classmate. He is amused and say to me that this just won’t get me from the hole. I tell him that I don’t care that I just wanted to tell him. At that instant I somehow start to feel safe and soon – I know – this is a dream. I then decide fight with all those guys and remembering the information from the book I’m translating in my waking life I know that I cannot fight with them using my body because it’s not the way dream world works. So I just imagine all of them just fall at once on the floor and – swoooosh – they all fall. I then turn to leave the place and say aloud over my shoulder: “Stay put!!” (I don’t know if this is proper english but they all seem to understand that I don’t want anybody to move.) I leave the room.
I walk through the corridor to the another part of the restaurant and there is a dancing hall where my wife and daughter are. As I walk across the dancefloor I try to do RC. I pinch my nose and try to breathe. I can so I know I’m still dreaming. I try to fly. But this time I forget the lessons from the book and I just try to jump to the air and it just doesn’t work. Then I take my daughter to my arms and look around – there are some small toys on the floor so I try to levitate them. It works as I don’t use my body to do so but only my mind. So I realize that this is the key for the moving within the lucid dream and I start to levitate also my daughter.
Then scene changes and I go down some road which ends in front of a door. In this part of the dream I don’t seem to realize I’m in the dream and I’m not lucid. As I open the door – the handle stays in my hand. I take my knive and try to repair it. Some ladies are passing around and laughing while pointing fingers at me: “Ha ha, you also are cought in the marriage.” I’m laughing with them. Then I pass through the door and enter some open space, with meadows all around. I see some huge piles of blocks of ice. I’m laughing and ask the people around if they are wainting until it melts so they could put it in small ice cube boxes and put into the fridge. But I’m laughing alone. Then I take one piece of ice and throw it to one pile. Before the ice falls, the pile changes into the big pool full of fish. The piece of ice hits one carp to the head. Somebody scolds me. I say I’m sorry to that carp and go to watch the pools. There are pretty weird kinds of fish I never saw before. They come close to me and I splash them with water. They seem happy with that and crowd at the pool side so some of them almost fall out. I look around and other piles of ice transformed into boxes full of animals. Next one is full of beasts of prey and some tiger shows the teeth at me. But it’s a lion who gets out of the box and go after me. I turn around and start climb the wall using lighting rod and some hanging wires to get away. But somehow the lion is following me. I climb up to the roof, when up there I have my daughter again on my arms so I try to be careful and not to fall down.
Scene again changes and I’m standing in the city, close to some bus station. I’m suddenly aware of being in the dream and looking around. I think I want to find some girl to have a sex with but just don’t know where to find her. Then I think to myself: “It is pretty long dream, so maybe when I wake up I won’t remember it.” Then I tried to remember what happened until then and divide the dream to several segments which I could remember easily. When I feel I will be able to remember it, I look around. I can see some people on the bus station with great details. Then I try to fly. But again I try it with my body movements, so it doesn’t work and I’m soon lying on the pavement. Then I again remember the lesson from the book and just by thinking about flying I’m doing bigger and bigger jumps. Some people go by and at first think I have some jumping device on my feet. When they are closer, they are amazed that I’m really doing such huge jumps without anything. I do my “mental” jumps to about 10m height. I fly close some concrete wall and they are hand prints on it. Guy below me thinks they are marks I left there and wonder about the height. I laugh and tell him that those prints were made by construction workers in times the building was built. He starts talking about the flying and tells me that one guy was doing the same flying like me using the helium. And soon we saw that guy in some glass box, with helium breathing apparatus. He has a licence to take people with him and to let them realize levitation. But he is limited by 20m elevation. One lady comes and ask for a test. It’s either British Queen or Marry Poppins, I’m not sure. She sits in the seat and up they go. I go with them, but me being outside of the device and flying by myself. When they land, my dream ends.

I wake up, energized, still feeling something like sleep paralysis. But it is soon away and I take my notebook and check the time. It’s 2:45 AM. I write the short notes and then return to sleep. I hope I can have another one since there is a plenty of time till morning. But nothing.

Well, I think I can be happy with just one dream, right?

Today I added another LD to my account. But within few seconds I was swept by dream-plot and fell in non-lucid one though. I just had time to be amazed by colorful vividness and real-like-ness. Whole today's night was nice to me as I had three another quite vivid dreams. :-)

Your English is good, "Stay put!" is perfect.

You could add more paragraphs (spacing in your punctuation) to make the text easier to read.

Also, I don't understand why you knocked back those guys instead of fighting them regularly. I think you are putting limitations on yourself that don't need to be there. I don't know though, I am new at this.

      HI Sammy.
Well, I know, that when I'm running away from somebody/something (in my nonlucid dreams) I usually cannot since I "run" using legs. But you are right that probably only limitations in our own mind are limits for us. Anyway, my sweeping the guys at once worked great.

I read your profile. I have one friend who uses marijuana regularly for his health problems quite a long time and it really helps him. So I wish luck to you as well.

BTW - you live in my dream land.
I spent few months on Maui several years ago and I totally love the place. It's probably my most strongest wish (besides those regarding my daughter) - to return and to "stay put".

      Hi guys.

Today I would like to kind a celebrate one year on DV.

Up to now I had slightly over 20 lucids, so as I wrote in my first post - yeah, I guess any of you can have LDs soon. Just be positive.
During this year I have found a heap of various info and just only recently realized, that I should concentrate just on one I choose and not just jump from one to another. That simply doesn't work - at least for me.

I would also like to share some my findings which I think could be of use for you.

Especially astralpulse.com as online source and Robert Waggoner's book "Lucid Dreaming: Gateway to the Inner Self" which is simply GREAT and I never read a better book regarding LD stuff.
If you are also interested in normal dreams and not necessarilly lucids, then book "Healing Dreams" by Marc Ian Barasch is mindblowing.

Some people here on DV were trying to make their own lucid induction programs and so and I have found great source of various cool sounds here. I personally love this one.

And most of all I would like to express my thanks to this community and this forum. Great place. Thank you guys.

      Cheers, Petr
