Just saying hello/ a quick question

      Hey everyone,

I've been having lucid dreams ever since I was really young and I never knew what they were up until about a month ago. I've started to keep a dream journal and my LD count is 5 in the last 30 days which I am pretty happy about.

Found the website and its very informative, the community seems cool so I joined!

Only problem is when I become lucid I lose control of the dream. Spinning doesn't help and I find it very hard to not get excited. Any little tips or anything?

But anyway I'm glad to be part of the community here and hopefully I can become a productive member

      Hey Gamble!

Besides spinning, have you tried touching objects in the dream, or doing reality checks? I'm not very good at becoming lucid but I've heard that can help.

      Good luck

      Welcome to the forums, Gamble.

Take a deep breath and then try to engage each of your senses. Stop and look at your surroundings, touch objects, taste something (even if it's grass [tell yourself it'll taste like mint before putting it in your mouth]), take sniff, and listen to the sounds of your environment. That should be enough to anchor you to your dream. Once you've done so go on and do whatever it is you want to do during your dream but remember to constantly engage your senses. Go through everything the first time but the next couple times, just do something quick like rubbing your hands on the ground or licking a tree. You can also try saying "stabilize dream now" (or something to that effect) out loud every once in a while.

You look similar to zebrah. Anyway. Hello! Welcome to Dreamviews, of course. Most of us are a friendly bunch. Make sure to check out the DV Tutorials in the Wiki. Might take you a couple tries to adapt to the feeling of lucid dreaming. Try changing your focus. Maybe you would feel more calmed/serious if you had a LD task in mind. Stabilization is a must, so check out the wiki for ideas. All in all, believe in yourself...because anything is possible.

      nice (:
What I try to do, is use voice commands, just yell out what you want, yell out "give me clarity" or whatever you feel will help you.

      Welcome to Dreamviews, Gamble!

Like everyone else has said, the wiki has a great tutorial on dream stabilization. Read through it and you should be fine! Stabilization isn't just about spinning or rubbing your hands. Those are just some ways to stabilize it. You have to stimulate all your senses (Touch, taste, hearing, sight, sound). For example, once you realize you are lucid try and touch the ground, look around you, smell the air, hear every sound, taste the wall, etc.

      Good luck!
