      New here!

Hey, I just joined and had posted on the general board without introducing myself first doh! So I am from the UK, I am 20 and recently found this site a few days ago. I am OK with remembering my dreams so I've started to write them down. I had an interesting experience today which I wrote on the general board.

I like the sound of the adoption thing... so I'm going to go read more about it!

Its always nice to find more people becoming aware of lucid dreaming. Welcome to the forum and good luck in your attempts at this. There are plenty of people here who are more than willing to help if you simply ask.

Thanks for the welcome! Your avatar scares the BEEP outta me!!! LOL. I bet I will dream about it tonight! That's another thing, I seem to dream about things that happen during the day. After writing my dreams down for the past few days I realise that they aren't just random, they all connect to something that has happened during the day, or what I have been thinking about. Is that common with most dreams?

I can honestly say, after reading various member's dream journals, every person sreams differently. For example take my dreams. All the ones that I have remembered as of late are all very very bizarre and don't have much that I can see to do with the real world. This is just a reflection of the differences in each person's mind.

      Hey dreamyduck! Welcome to DV

I'm also 20 and in the same boat as you are for the most part. A lot of my dreams contain things that happened the day before, most notably the most important thing that happened before I go to bed. (Except last night's dream. That was all rather random...) Anyway, if there's anything we can help you with just let us know.

      Sweet Lucid Dreams!

Thanks for all the welcomes!! I had an odd but interesting experience last night! It's nothing to do with lucidity though... but was still cool! I think I went into a trance. I read up about them when I woke up and it felt like how they were being described! Was really cool and at one point I thought I was about to break out through my own skin. I wonder if this is just a part of the sleeping stage and I was just more aware of it?

I have not had a chance to welcome you dreamduck...sooo HI!

This may have had something to do with a lucid dream, or at least the onset of one.
What time did this accur? This may have been part of a (WILD) or Wake Initiaded Lucid Dream. Explain a bit more, if you remember.
Also you had mentioned about the adoption process. If you have not already looked into it here is all the information------>

Thanks It happened right when I went to bed. I got in bed and realised that my bed felt like heaven after being sat at a computer for a while, and just lay there, being all comfortable and relaxed and was kinda concentrating on being relaxed if you know what I mean? And it just all kinda happened. I was relaxing and relaxing and suddenly felt like I wasn't in my bedroom anymore. I kept my eyes closed the entire time but everything suddenly felt extremely weird, like I was in space? I don't know. But it just all felt very..empty, the room. Even though I couldn't see it. And my body felt weird too, very heavy, and sometimes it felt as if I was as light as a feather and as if I could just float away! But when I tried, I couldn't. At one point I think I was lying on my back and I could hear very faint wind! In my room, and it wasn't windy outside. I only ever hear wind in my room when it's the tree-blowing mad type wind! Umm what else? Oh, I found I got no weird sensations at all when I was lying on my right side, only on my back and my left. It was on my left side that I felt the coming-through-skin thing. I was just lying, could feel myself getting lighter, and then I felt as if I was falling or rolling sideways, and I felt pressure on my forehead as if I was trying to.. come out of it! Ehh it was weird and I find it very hard to explain so all this may not have made sense!!! But with none of this was there any dreaming involved.. I did have dreams later that night however.

That's really interesting. Yeah alot of times you will get those weird sensations, and they can be really confusing...like you said at points you felt really heavy and at other times light as a feather. I am guessing that the wind you heard blowing was hypnogogic sounds...it's all apart of hypnogogia. Alot of people hear strange things while they are WILDing or in different stages of getting into a dream.

I just read up on the WILD technique, and this bit - "At that point will you notice that you no longer have any problem concentrating, everything becomes clear" - that seems to be how I felt when I felt like I was in a bigger room. It was like I didn't have to think anymore. Oh oh oh!!! I know how to describe this! You know how you have those magic eye things, and you are concentrating and concentrating, then you suddenly just.. GET it? And after that you can move your eye around the whole picture, exploring it with ease, it was EXACTLY like that!!!!!! Except without the whole magic eye picture thing LOL. But the same feeling, I was doing the same thing in my mind in this big black emptyness!!

      This is all quite exciting

      Good point Aquanina!
I was wondering. Can you see & here hynopompic hallucinations on the onset of sleep? Or is that more associated with long terms of REM cycles? .. Anyone

Everone is differant. We all have so many chemical makeups and brain interpretations there are no absolute rules to follow. So remember all these techniques are VERY helpful. And in most cases work for most people. However rules are sometimes made to at least be bent. Meaning each method can be refined to your own needs.
The Tutorials there is everything from sleep paralysis to the WILd technique and the stages of WILD, Alonf with an Acronym list to guide you.
Feel free to ask Questions. There is a lot of information floating around.

Like Howetzer said everyone is different and we will all find our own path down the road of LDing. I hope you find what you are searching for. It may take a while, but don't give up. You will find what you need.

      Welcome to DV's
      Dreamyduck.

I would lick to post a response toward your experiences with wilding but Aquanina and Howetzer has pointed out some very awesome points, so all I can say is don't get discouraged if it fails the first few times. Stay focuse and you will find your way. You can count on that, but you gotta believe from within.

Well last night I had weird sensations again... you know it kinda feels like my whole body is going numb, and tingling at times. It's different to sleep paralysis though, it's like my body isn't even.. THERE! Hmm.

I didn't remember any dreams last night though

Edit - also, my brother was being noisy having a shower last night, and I felt as if I was maybe falling asleep, but when the shower turned on, which was a loud noise, it made me jump! And my mind started shaking or vibrating or something. Interesting
