      Hi leviathen Welcome to Dreamviews.

I would recommend you check out Puffin's Beginners Guide to Lucid Dreaming. It is a very helpful guide to beginners like yourself.

The main thing at first is just to focus on your dream recall at first. Once you get to the point where you remember at least one dream a night you can choose a technique you would like to do.

You can find find a list on the main techniques here along with descriptions of them. Anyway, good luck! If you have any questions, feel free to send me a private message!

The best advice I can give you right now is to get as much sleep as you can. It is very important to keep a steady sleep pattern every night. Welcome to DV btw!

Exactly what Mancon said, focus on your dream recall at first. You know, in my opinion it is a good idea just to keep at your dream journal for a while and just really build that up before you really start lucid dreaming. This is because the dream journal helps so much that without it, your chances can be lowered which could frustrate you if you are trying to LD right out of the gate and not getting any sucess due to lack of recall. But this doesn't mean you cant! Just try not to get really frustrated if you aren't having much success. But this also applies to lucid dreaming in general, it takes time to achieve and sometimes can take a long to time to achieve or a short period of a few days, just remember that you ARE making progress and you WILL have a lucid dream if you keep at it. This is easier said than do though, at times you will probably get frustrated and maybe just want to give up, but don't! Lucid dreaming way take a while but I can assure you it is well worth the wait and you will be very glad you kept at it.

      Happy dreaming, and good luck!

Thanks guys!!!! really warm welcome and thanks for the advice!, I hadn't been able to remember a dream for about 4 months before a couple of my friends introduced me to this about a week ago. My dream recall is alright i guess(one to two dreams a night ) and I've been trying the WILD technique. I know it's probably the hardest and not recommended for someone who is just starting but the way i see it if i can master WILDing right off the bat. it will just make LDing that much easier since if i'm not mistaken it is the most consistent way of LDing
