so im not new to lucid dreaming but i just have a few questions:
      1. how long can you stay in the lucid dream? i read somewhere someone stayed in the dream world for a number of years (just a normal sleep time in real life thou)
      2. can you contact real people in the dream world? like shared lucid dreaming?
      3. is there a chance you can never come back and you wake up in a coffin coz your family thought you were dead but you were just trapped in your body..

      Welcome to dreamviews,
      1. how long can you stay in the lucid dream? i read somewhere someone stayed in the dream world for a number of years (just a normal sleep time in real life thou)
I don't think it is possible to stay that long, I've heard people who have, but the timeline in the dream will skip sereral days at a time therefore goes very fast.
Your dreams can last as long as your REM cycle does, which can be up to an hour at later stages.
      2. can you contact real people in the dream world? like shared lucid dreaming?
Not proven but maybe, the results of an experiment that went on here was very interesting.
      3. is there a chance you can never come back and you wake up in a coffin coz your family thought you were dead but you were just trapped in your body..
No I don't think so, I think you've been watching inception!
      4. ive had sleep parazis before and it is scary to say the lest is there a way around this??
Everyone goes into SP when they go to sleep, else you would act out your dreams, if you go to sleep normally then you won't experience it (usually) but some people do.
It's a natural process and you shouldn't be scared about it!

Hope that helped, ask anything if you have more questions.

As long as your REM cycle. You can stay in a lucid dreaming from anywhere between 1 minute to an hour and a half. It just depends if you stabilize the dream, when you became lucid, and what REM cycle you're in. Some people believe it is possible to make it feel like you have been in a dream for days or even longer. This is called time dilation. I recommend you take a look at this tutorial if you are interesting in expanding the time of your dreams.

A lot of people think it is possible, including me. It hasn't been scientifically proven yet. There is a big shared dreaming experiment going on right now, and we even have our own sub forum for it! It has had some interesting results, and I have had some crazy experienced involving shared dreaming. If you are interested in reading about the experiment and all of the results click here.

Not at all! Lucid dreaming in completely safe, and you certainly won't die from it! Don't believe everything you hear.

Well sleep paralysis can be scary, but you just have to remember nothing is real and can't hurt you. Don't worry! Once you start experimenting with SP more often you will get used to it. If you're doing the WILD technique you must go into SP in order to go into the lucid dream. For me sleep paralysis is NOT scary and actually kind of fun. It varies from person to person though. Just read up about it and you should be fine.

Anyway, good luck! I hope you start having many lucid dreams soon. If you have any questions just send me a private message and I will respond ASAP.

For number 3, you only have dreams during REM cycle. I think what your talking about is coma, but lucid dreaming is just a dream, except you know your dreaming. If your family thought you were dead, they'd probably check if you had a pulse or if you were breathing. If you don't have that, your probably dead anyway.

      Hello Jon! Welcome to dreamviews!

Question 1: There are a lot of people who say that you can stay in a lucid dream for days or weeks (not real time). Now this is pretty debatable as there is a lot of mixed opinions on this topic. It really matters on how well you stabilize the dream and your confidence. But from all the opinions I have seen on this site I think it's safe to say you can be in a lucid dream (dream time) for about a few hours. Or however long your REM cycle is like Mancon said. Check out the links he gave you as I don't want to post the same links twice giving the same answer. But definitely explore how long you can make your Lds last!

Question 2: That topic is a really commonly debated topic, nobody really has the answer to it because there is a lot more to learn about the dream world. I sort of believe in it as I like to keep an open mind, but like Mancon said it hasn't been scientifically proven yet, but definitely go check out that sub forum he linked you if you would like to learn a bit more. I myself have had a non lucid shared dreaming ish experience but I wont go into that. Definitely try it out! There is still so much to learn about the dream world, it's your mind! Explore it!

Question 3: Like Mancon said, lucid dreaming is completely and utterly safe. You are in the same sleep stage as you are in non lucid dreams. But you haven't heard about anyone being trapped in their body in a dream have you? Exactly, there is nothing to fer when it comes to lucid dreaming. Just relax and have fun!

Question 4: Sleep paralysis is only scary if you are scared of it. It can't hurt you and has never hurt anyone so why should you be scared? If you do experience scary things just remind yourself that they are all just in your head and they can't do anything to harm you at all! Just relax and enjoy the WILD! With the dark spirits in SP, they are just figments of your imagination and can't hurt you. Unless you were referring to the paranormal or something, which I don't really know much about...

Pm if you want for any lucid dreaming questions you have. I know quite a bit and can definitely help you out!

      Good luck!
