      Hello!

Well, hello all! I am Sidetracking!

I decided to join this forum, because I want to try to achieve a lucid dream. I have always kinda wanted to have one (well i had one but i didn't know what it was at the time so i just stared at black) but i dismissed it because i never really "dreamed" before. (I mean i know you always dream, but it was like i remembered nothing. Like it never happened). However, recently i have been having really clear dreams. I can remember a lot of what happened, and i feel really connected with my subconscious.

So far, to try to achieve lucidity: I have been making a dream log, regular reality checks, and tonight I'm gonna try a WILD. I'm starting to see a few dream signs. (specifically 1 person who i hang out with a lot in the dream world).

So as a short term goal, I'm just going for a lucid dream. Not gonna try to set anything higher, first i wanna see what its like to be conscious dreams. Then after that i will start adding on to that, because i know it's not something you can just start doing in an instant. So I'm hoping with a little luck, and the methods I'm gonna try out soon, I will be having lucid dreams in the near future

      Hi there my friend ,

Glad you've joined DV. Hope you'll have a fun stay here in DV. Be sure to visit http://www.dreamviews.com/f20/beginn...eaming-116237/ to know the basics of Lucid Dreaming. I also see that you're practicing WILD, be sure to read http://www.dreamviews.com/f79/mancon...-guide-119446/ or http://www.dreamviews.com/f79/yoshis...chnique-82529/ . Once you've managed to learn how to have a successful WILD, I suggest you practice dream stabilization to prolong your LD experience. If you do have some questions, feel free to ask by either posting a thread or going to the chatroom, or even messaging a Dream Guide here in DV. Hope this helps

I wish you good luck in your endeavors! I'm about in the same boat as you in that I had one memorable lucid dream when I was young, and the sheer awesomeness of it has led me to keep practicing.

Shit... I wish lucid dreaming had been taught in schools...
But I guess that makes us oneironauts special, huh?

      Hi Sidetracking, welcome to Dreamviews!

It's great your recall has gone up! If you ever find it going down again, you can get it back up! Dreamviews has a dream recall tutorial you should check out. Good luck with all the stuff your doing! I recommend you stop and just look around you and ask if it is a dream while your doing reality checks. Make sure you don't make reality checks a habit you don't think about while you are doing them. You need to be aware.

Anyway, i'm sure you will get lucid soon! Good luck

Hi there again. To avoid falling asleep while WILDing, you can either count 1-100 or repeatedly recite in your mind "I will have a lucid dream". Or you can even make your own variation like counting 1-100 with "I will have an LD" between each number. You can also listen to external sounds like ticking of your wrist watch. The thing here is: practice, practice and practice. Hope this helps

      P.S.
      Do WBTB before WILDing

Haha yup My friends online name is actually Sidetracked XD

Anyways, i tried again last night. This time i got a little more out of it than last time. So, i stayed up for a few minutes, read my dream journal, stuff like that. After than i went back to bed, however this time i think i got into SP. If someone could tell me if this was or not that would be great. So i was: Vibrating rapidly, by whole body kinda felt tingly, my hands and feet were numb, i didn't try to move because i heard that can mess it up sometimes, however i didn't see anything. Does this still sound like SP?

Well SP can come in many different forms, and are different for everyone. Vibrations and numbness are a common sign for most people they arte in SP. So it sounds like you were. Try visualizing the dream scene you want to be in (using all senses) next time you get into SP. Good luck!
