Thread: y did this happen?

ok, im pretty new at lucid dreaming and just had my third lucid dream last night.
i rarely ever lucid dream
so the dream was going on for a while and all of a sudden i woke up, and it was real.
so i started to think, was my lucid dream real, or was i just imagining it and ive been awake the whole time?

plz explain.
p.s., also explain how i woke up for no reason.

It's pretty common to wake up shortly after a lucid dream starts. Basically you become lucid because your mind becomes more aware, and awareness is awfully close to awakeness. If you get a little too aware, you wake up. It's also very common to have become lucid as you're waking up. So maybe the question isn't "why did I wake up for no reason?" but the answer is that you became lucid because part of your mind woke up while you were still dreaming.
