      Hey everyone! :D

      My name is Helena.

I'm not new to lucid dreaming actually - I've tried it about 2 years ago and was successful for a while but the numerous reality checks during the day seemed to be wearing me out and I got lazy and haven't been trying lucid dreaming since then! XD That's not to say I stopped wanting lucid dreams or similar experiences though!

The reason I came on here was because I had a question on another site about creating an alternate world through dreaming that you would return to every night. One answer told me that it's definitely possible with lucid dreams and pointed out that I would need:

"-To master lucid dreaming (ie have one every night)

-Have very good dream control and stability

-Find a way to "build" your world directly in the dream.

What I mean is you would first become lucid, stabilize, then use one of three things:

      • -visualize your world and travel to it by any mean you like (spinning, opening a door, flying etc)
      • -use the double power of Mental Visualization and (my favorite tech) the DEILD technique. This means DEILDing, then using mental imagery to transport yourself in your dream world.
      • -Ignore everything I said up there and somehow find something that works for you (although the stuff mentioned above is your best bet)"

SO THAT IS ALL MY GOAL NOW.

Nice to meet you all, and I hope that someday I will achieve this goal and not give up like I may have so many times before!!!

I'm also the type of person that need exact instructions LOL so where do I start with this??

      Hi Helena Welcome to DV!

I'm glad you decided to try it again after a few years Yup it is totally possible to create a world in a lucid dream, and visit it each night. Good luck with that! The first step would be for you to focus on your dream recall. How many dreams do you remember a night? We have a dream recall tutorial here on the site you can read. After that you should pick a technique you would like to practice. You can find a list of techniques here.

Anyway I would read Puffin's Beginner's Guide to Lucid Dreaming to start off. Good luck!

      Welcome to DV ^_^
visualization and DEILD are 2 of my favorite techniques as well!
This is a great helpful website, just stay determined and patient when it comes to LDing
Read the sites wiki here as well, if you want to learn about other techniques and what not
feel free to ask questions n_n

      Thank you!

A night? I think I remember most of my dreams each night..? I'm not sure because every other day, I have a long vivid dream that I recall most details of for a while, while other days I may have a few boring dreams that I don't care to remember, but remember anyway for the rest of the day and then forget. I also find that creating a dream journal takes up too much time in the morning since I always remember so many details from a dream that I want to write down *everything*. XD Ok so the amount of dreams that I recall in the morning is usually between 2-3 - but it varies a lot.

You're welcome! It sounds like your recall is already good! Anyway, about the dream journal...you don't have to write down EVERY detail of the dream(s) if you are busy. You can just jot down several key words and main points and add to it when you have time.

alright I'll try doing that then! How long do you suggest I will need to keep the dream journal for until I can start experimenting with the lucid dreaming techniques?

Well if your remembering at least a dream a night, you can go ahead and try one of them. The technique might not work right away, but make sure you stick with it for at least a month and be confident about it! I still recommend for you to keep a dream journal while you are practicing the technique...you might find a dream sign. Good luck, again
