newbie - introduction - my experiences

      Hi there,

I'm new to lucid dreaming. I came across this because I was having some weird dreams which I wanted to find out the possible meaning off and found lucid dreaming in the process. I found the idea of lucid dreaming very interesting and I am now dedicated to trying to be a lucid dreamer.

Anyway I just wanted to say hi and that I hope to become a part of your community and share an experience of mine.

So I've been trying for about a week and a half now and honestly was not expecting any results yet. However a couple nights ago I had my biggest step forward in a dream. I questioned the fact that I may be dreaming. Unfortunately my reality checks failed me. When I questioned if I was dreaming I checked the time on my phone, I turned a way and checked again and I felt as though it was still normal. I also tried to put my fingers through my palm but this failed also. I am now training myself on using blocking my nose as an rc.

This obviously seemes very normal, I failed my reality check and my dream continued... Except now in my dream I was 100% sure everything was real and it was like my mind knew exactly what I would want and I had an overwhelming feeling of happiness. I actually woke up laughing of happiness which I felt was incredibly weird...

I am still very happy that I at least made the progress to question my dream and perform a reality check even if it did fail.
In retrospect the signs were incredibly obvious, but the fact I put so much confidence in my rc convinced me otherwise.

I have always been fairly good at recalling my dreams but I have found now since I'm actively thinking about it I am remembering a dream every night.

Lastly I want to apologise for any weirs grammar issues or spelling because I posted this from my phone. Thanks for reading.

      Hi there my friend,

Glad you've joined DV. Hope you have a fun stay here. I would really recommend that you get yourself a dream journal to aid you in recalling your dreams my friend. It's an essential item in the field of Lucid Dreaming. Some reality checks don't work in some dreams so it's much better to widen your collection of RCs. Why not read the official Reality Check Tutorial to know more reality checks? You can also make your own personal reality check my friend. And have you already read http://www.dreamviews.com/f20/beginn...eaming-116237/ ? It's a must read article.

If you've got questions, feel free to ask by either replying back or messaging any of the dream guides(expert in LD) in this dream guide list / Just have patience and confidence on yourself and I'm sure you'll be Lucid Dreaming in no time. Hope this helps

      Well hello there!!! Welcome!!
DV is an awesome community, i'm sure everyone will help you.
I think you should try noseplug, it has always worked for me. Even though I've somehow always known for sure in a lucid that it really is a dream.
(I've only used noseplugging in two of my latest dreams)
      Lucid dreaming since September 2011!!!
