      Not just any newb!

Okay, maybe I am just some newb. But beware!

I found Dream Views (the site is really shiny, by the way) through Newgrounds.com, and I have to say it looks very awesome.

I hope I'll be staying with Dream Views for a long time, visiting each day and updating my (new ) dream journal. I'm very interested in this lucid dreaming, and I want to see if I can do it. Wish me luck! 8)

Don't worry, we welcome all our newbs here with open arms!!!

I'm glad you like the site...compliments to Icedawg, he just updated the look of it not too long ago. Feel free to make Dream Views your own so make yourself comfortable. I'm sure that if you are dedicated to it and work at it enough you will be able to become lucid and perhaps eventually become very experienced with it. I know this site has helped me out tremendously!

Glad to see you starting a dream journal, that is the first step in your lucid adventure. When you wake up every morning write down your dreams...no matter HOW tired you are! Just remember you'll only get out of it as much as you put into it. Hopefully you will eventually be able to recognize recurring symbols/situations in your dreams that you can identify as your dream signs.

I would also suggest that you start doing reality checks on a regular basis, and take a look at the adoption forum if you are interested in being adopted and getting some more one on one attention.

Also feel free to PM me at any time if you have any questions. Enjoy your stay!!!

The best way to record dreams is to do it every time you wake up. Just lay there in bed and think about what you just dreamed, because chances are you had at least something. If after a time you can't recall anything, don't worry and go back to bed. Just keep your journal handy for the next time you wake up.

Good luck and thanks for joining DV! We're glad to have you

I'm new at this too, but i've found for myself that the best way to record a dream is by keeping a tape recorder behind my head. For me, writing takes much longer and gives me more of a chance to forget the dream I just had. With my small hand sized tape recorder, all I have to do is reach behind my head from a laying position and grab it, hit the record button and tell my dream into the tape recorder. This keeps me from moving my body very much and helps my dream recall. For me, it seems that the more i physically move after waking up, the more of the dream that i forget. But a piece of advice that I had to learn through experience. Try to speak as clearly as you can. Although you know what you are saying at the time of recording, when you listen to it again later that day when you are fully awake, you might not be able to understand what you were saying because you are saying it in a groggy voice after just waking up. And tell every single detail that you can about the dream. I've gotten where I can recall 3 dreams per night doing it this way. And just as a reminder I have tacked a sheet of paper to the ceiling with a large font printout of "REMEMBER TO RECORD DREAM" on it so when I wake up that is the first thing that I see. One more thing about the tape recorder and I will close this post out. If the recorder will not work properly, seems like it is at the end of the tape, etc., make sure to do a reality check. I have had a couple of times that I thought I had woken up and grabbed the recorder only to find that it was not working properly. Unfortunately I didn't do a RC and I woke up realizing that it was a dream. Sorry for such a long post, but I hope that this helps you out on dream journals.

LOL. How the heck did we end up on Newgrounds?

Anyway, welcome! And I'll just repeat what everyone else said: If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
