      Red face Greetings!

Heeey everyone, my name is Alyssa, I'm 20 years old and I'm new here. I've had some very scattered lucid dreams in my life, and I've had them enough to learn some tricks, but I've never really practiced to have them and I've decided it's time to start. I couldn't hold it off anymore, my dreams are SO weird... I just have to dive deeper into them! So that's me. How's everyone doing?

Welcome to Dream Views! I'm kind of a newbie as well; only been here for about three months. But everyone is super friendly and helpful and the site has TONS of helpful information on Lucid Dreaming. Hope you like it here!

So what tricks have you learned? I'm still working on having lucid dreams. (I've only has three so far.)

Well, I'm starting to get flying down pretty well... or at least, I'm telling myself that I am lol. And I don't mean just doing it, I mean doing it without waking myself up. Flying has actually been my most common method of transportation in my dreams since I was like 4 or 5, I actually remember the first time it happened because I was really excited and told my parents about it, haha. So in non-lucids it happens all the time, but the first time I ever tried it while lucid I was really unprepared for what happened, it totally caught me by surprise!! I guess my flying abilities were just already maxed but that was with my non-lucid mind that just used it for normal getting around, when I tried it while lucid it was like there was a BOOM, I launched into the air at jet speed, and I had perfect control as far as direction but it was SO FAST! I got really high up really quick and I could see miles of landscape flying by under me but the huge adrenaline rush and the sheer force of the air hitting my face woke me up.

Another cool one I can sorta do now while lucid but that has actually worked itself into my non-lucids too where it works even better is Hulk-style jumping. That one's really fun when it works! It actually was one of the reasons for one of my favorite dreams ever, I was hopping around on the tops of buildings at some Disney Land-like theme park and there was a huge crowd of people walking around, like so packed that you could've barely even moved in real life, and I was watching the crowd go by as I jumped all over the place, and I noticed that after chunks of crowd went by it would just be the same people over and over again. I laughed so hard when I woke up! I guess my brain just overworked itself and gave up on coming up with new people.

The last big one I'd say is walking through walls/doors/etc., it took a while because the first few times the walls would be really resistant and kind of be like thick jello... like, I could get through them if I tried REALLY hard, but they would push out on the other side with me and stay solid until I put enough force in so I couldn't just walk straight through. Eventually I got to where I just managed to not think about it and it's really easy now. It's convenient! I've done some other minor stuff like summoning someone and using telekinesis but those I've only done once or twice and most of the time my lucids are short enough that I just try to look around and see how cool it is that it looks so real. Hopefully they'll get longer soon though!

Oh I don't doubt it, and mine are really bizarre! I feel like my subconscious has ADHD when putting together landscapes and DCs. A week or two ago I had a dream where I was at a party that looked like some kind of disco thing with lots of pulsing lights and vibrant colors streaming all over the room and the mom from Malcolm in the Middle was there, only she didn't look like her, she looked like a really skinny and pretty short girl - maybe like 15 to 17 years old? definitely not older - and she was wearing a red scarf and a really odd assortment of clothes that are hard to remember now but mostly consisted of black and white ring designs, and she had this huge light blond wig on that was kind of like an afro made of curly hair that made her more than foot taller than normal, and it was clearly a wig because she had darker straight blond hair that was just barely visible under it, and around the wig, taking up the entire huge surface area on the front-facing side, was a diamond-plated necklace that read, in fancy text, "Crusher". However, when she spoke, she still had the correct voice lol. I really wish I could remember more of that dream but that's about it, I wasn't keeping a journal at the time and my recall was pretty poor. That one does stand out a bit from my regular dreams, but still, that's what I'm dealing with here.

Haha, I wondered if someone was going to answer that. Good to hear! And will do! I've still got a ton to read up on so I'm sure I'll be needing lots of pointers.

Those are some awesome dream skills you described! You're a lot further along than I am but I'm hoping to one day have the same kind of lucid dream experiences you have. You're also lucky to have started so young. I only found out about lucid dreaming last year and I'm almost 50. It makes me feel like I missed out on all those years I could have been LD'ing and now have a lot of catching up to do. But better late than never...lol.

Yep, it's never too late to start! Just keep it up and you'll get there. I find that most of my lucid dreaming skills just get better the more lucid dreams I have, I don't really have to put too much thought into them. I just try them out in one LD and if it doesn't work I try it a little differently the next time until it does! I think I'm gonna try to work mainly on improving telekinesis next, it's pretty simple if you just start by pushing things away from you or pulling them toward you, and it's pretty easy to get into because it feels cool and doesn't take any physical effort, so it tends to work pretty often!

      Welcome to DV, Alyssa.

Sounds like you have some pretty good skill, already. Looking forward to reading more of your experiences. Telekinesis is easily my favorite lucid dream power. I think you're going to have a lot of fun, experimenting with that.

If you have any questions, ask away. And enjoy your stay!
