Wink Starting Lucid Dreaming, for the second time...

Hi there, My name is Max from the UK. ABout 3 or 4 years ago I was introduced to Dreamviews by a friend who was also interested in lucid dreaming. I became hooked but being much younger I only did it for a few months before me and my friends got bored from limited success.

I kept a dream journal for quite a few months and can still remember some of the dreams I had then .

I have decided to come back and try again to lucid dream. Just though I would say hi and introduce my elf and also ask if I could get some advice on the best places to start:

      1) I have already started a dream journal on my iPod touch for ease of typing in the dark and then ease of transferring onto the internet. Is this okay or should i revert back to pad and pen?

      2) Also I will be attempting a WILD from waking up before a REM cycle. (WBTB variation). Are there any relaxation techniques I should learn/use and is the WILD a good technique to start on?

I look forward to your replies and look forward to being part of this community. Something I enjoyed greatly in the past.

      Welcome back, Namio xD
Pen and pad is probably the most traditional way, but as long as your iPod touch doesn't wake you up with it's brightness too much, that's fine too I mainly use my touch for a flashlight and use pen+paper.
Personally, i find the best relaxation technique any of the meditation ones. I use focal meditation and once i feel that i have relaxed enough, i switch to void meditation. If you're interested in learning more about it, check out the DVA. Shockwave runs a meditation course in there.

      Welcome back, again!

Any questions about lucid dreaming? Drop me a PM here!

Thanks F0rceez, and cheers for the information I tried a WBTB WILD last night. I easily stayed focus but after counting down from 100 to 0 over 10 minutes in time with my breathing. I felt nothing and decided to go back to sleep. I only stayed awake 10 minutes maybe less after my alarm went off, so maybe i was too awake?. Should I try 5 next time?

I personally would love to meet your Elf

Welcome to DV and enjoy your stay, Some people think writing your DJ is better than typing , but i think that so long as it is personal to you it won't matter that much, read other's DJ around here to keep up your motivation if your feeling down about any lack of success, Im sure you will be Lucid many many times over the coming months.

It's nice to have you here.

Could it be, so plain to see, the night is still so young for me.
