      No LD: Frustrating/Weird Insta-WILD?

Night #4 since I've started practicing LDs and its techniques, and I think I messed up.

After one successful LD the night before, I find myself again with no LDs this past night

In fact, I couldn't even recall any of my dreams whereas the night before, i was able to journal 4 dreams in one night. (Well i guess i recalled a mini dream that lasted maybe 10 seconds, but does that count? lol) Maybe i was too confident because I've had my first, that I would be able to do it again with little effort.

In some success, I was able to do some sort of insta-WILD. It was so weird, I woke up around 5AM, meditated on my awareness, attempted SP, and I transitioned to SP in less than 5 seconds; it happened almost instantly. The sounds were incredible. Its as if a thunderstorm/jet plane/train passed over my head in an instant.

Once the sounds passed, I knew I was lucid. So I tried to get my dream body out of my physical body. I was able to start swinging my dream body out of my physical body and remembered its familiar feeling from the night before during my first LD. But then all of a sudden, I lost it, and I felt completely awake. I tried to keep my eyes closed because I read somewhere that this will re-stabilize it, but I was too anxious. I got up and I performed a RC, and sure enough I was awake. Even more frustrating was the fact that I was wide awake, couldn't try WILD, and felt a little discouraged to try MILD or DILD.

Anyways I ended up falling asleep again and waking up even more frustrated because I didn't think I was able to fall asleep again. Because of my frustration, I again forgot my dreams. LOL endless cycle of failures and frustration *sigh*.

      Any advice?

      Thanks.

I think ur pretty lucky, Most people arent able to recall that many dreams in one night. Or even get as far as u did in ur WILD ( or at least not as soon as 4 nights) The only advice I can give is to keep up watever it is ur doing.

Sounds like you've had some pretty great successes to me. Try not to stress about it too much. Focus more on what went right (e.g. getting into a WILD) than what went wrong (waking up right afterwards). That's my advice.

Thanks guys. I'm not sure if I'm doing this right because I seem to only get close right before I wake up, within 2 hours. The rest of the night, it seems like i have no change.

The biggest problem I have is when I try to picture something to focus on, like the flaming lotus recommended by Laberge, I find myself tensing the muscles around my eyes. If i try to relax, the picture disappears and i end up falling asleep like normal.

However, I'll take your advice. If i don't LD, no biggie, theres always the next night.
