How long it takes to have your first lucid can greatly vary among people. I think it depends on the person, their patience, and determination. There are some people that can have their first lucid dream just after a few days. I think there have been a few people that have tried for over a year to lucid dream. There are even people that have lucid dreams before they even know what they are.

I think this is what you should really keep in mind though. It helps to tell yourself that you will have a lucid dream each night.
