      Hi there :)

      Hi, just thought I should introduce myself briefly.

      I came to this site as I thought it would be the best place to get advice on what I believe was a false awakening (posted in general lucid discusssion - correct place I hope). The experience did scare me quite a lot, but after searching the web and looking on this site, I wonder if it could be an opening to start dreaming lucidly.

      The experiences I have had with dreams are sleep paralysis once in my life, a few dream orgasms (this is when I'm most aware that I'm dreaming, as I can feel the... feeling building up and, I hope this isn't too graphic or rude, but my hand is no where near myself and my finger tends to do the movements as if I were pleasuring myself, and I am very aware of it) and a few times when I have not been able to control my dreams but walk around in them and be aware of the surroundings. When I was younger, I used feel very vividly and very often that I was flying down the stairs, with a weightless feeling in my stomach, and once across my school hall!

      These are the only sort of experiences I've had, and looking through this forum and website, I think I would really like to start trying to dream lucidly.

      Hello, those experiences seem normal to me, most people who lucid dream tend to go for direct pleasures at first.

      Yeah, I thought they were pretty normal, I just thought I should share some experiences seeing as I'm new. It's strange with the dream orgasms though, because I never intend to dream lucidly, I just become aware and in control near the end of it when the feeling is building. As I said, coming here and with my apparent FA, I hope to have lucid dreams with intent to do so.

      Hm, throughout the day and last night I repeated to myself that I would LD, and I was concentrating on a certain place in Cornwall, especially a wall overlooking the sea. I didn't LD, but I can vaguely remember seeing dark waves in my dream. Gonna keep at it.

      It seems you already know this, but I think I should post this anyway, just in case.

      Confidence is important when it comes to lucid dreaming. When you repeat to yourself that you will have a lucid dream, don't just say something like "I will have a lucid dream" without really thinking about what you are saying. Really believe that you will. Convince yourself that you are going to have a lucid dream tonight. Being confident that you will have a lucid dream will greatly increase your chances of having one.

      I'm not saying you are doing anything wrong though. Having dreamt of waves after focusing on the sea for the first time sounds like a great start to me.

      Keep it up, and I promise you will be lucid dreaming in no time.
