      Hi (:

Im new. My name is Hunter but I am a girl. The reason I decided to join was because I remember at least one dream every night. (I have PTSD, so many of them are nightmares.) Im curious about the paranormal and other strange things. So I thought I might give this a try. Ive tried to control my dreams before, and I fail epically.
Lately I have been traveling around a lot. Ive lived in England for a little while, now I reside in the USA. Im pretty friendly I suppose.

Hi and welcome to DV! If you practice your awareness you'll eventually get lucid. Practice a technique and believe in yourself. If you have any questions, ask away!

      Welcome, Miss Hunter.

Think of your nightmares as an advantage, when it comes to lucid dreaming, because such situations present more of an opportunity for you to realize you are dreaming. As Matte said, work on your awareness (and there are a few tutorials around the site to help you get accustomed to recognizing the dream state), and you should be having plenty of lucid dreams in which to work on your control skills. What kinds of experiences (or failures ) have you had so far? I see you've already started up a dream journal, so you're on the right track. If you have any specific questions, let us know.

      And enjoy your stay!

      Welcome to DV
Like O said, nightmares are a really good way to lucid dream because it's like a dream sign.
