      She has mentioned that she's an empath, but we haven't discussed lucid dreaming, I can't find an appropriate situation to bring it up.

      I believe it's safe to say that her presence in your dream was just a creation of your own subconscious mind.

      Personally, I don't believe shared dreaming is possible, because your dreams are created by your subconscious mind. So unless you actually share your subconscious mind with someone, I don't think you'd be able to have a shared dream. This is just my theory though.

      Don't worry about this. If you really want to talk with her about lucid dreaming, then you will find a way to bring it up somehow. For example, when you wake up in the morning, talk about some awesome dream you had that night. Judging by her reaction you should be able to tell if she is interested in dreaming or not.
