Lucid dreams, but then not lucid

So, I've been practicing a few techniques here and there, and I've had some interesting results. Most of the time in a dream I just realize it's a dream automatically and then start to do things. But other dreams I've been slightly aware, but certain feelings take over, so I start to lose control. I had this one dream were I became lucid, I then started feeling around to stabilize, then I went back into the actual plot of the dream. Does anyone have any advice for me to get lucid and stay lucid in a dream? If anyone needs any clarification just specify and I'll be sure to elaborate. Thanks!

Some people do get pulled back in the dream plot, that's why a lot like flying out of the place where they became lucid to a totally new area. Try doing a reality check first and then walking around while keeping in mind "this is a dream". When you feel like you're starting to lose lucidity, do another reality check, and perhaps go somewhere else away from the place you're at.

^^ Yes, those are excellent techniques.

So, Bumpeh, do you have any reality checks, like forceez said, that you perform regularly? I'm only asking this because I have some good ideas that may or may not help you lock in to a lucid dream, once it has started, so you can stabilize it before it starts to fade into a regular dream.

Thanks for the advice, and I do have some RC's I perform regularly(I think I need to perform them more frequently though). The three I use the most is counting fingers, trying to stick my index finger through my other hand, and pinching my nose and then trying to breathe through my nose. If you have any more advice I'd love to hear it.
