Thread: What was your first ever lucid dream like?

What was your first lucid dream like? did it feel real? I am new to lucid dreaming and would really like to know what other peoples experiences were like when they first realised they were having a lucid dream.

Well, it was a WILD & I was only 3...but since I couldn't talk, I had no control, but I still knew I was dreaming (b/c I was able to move), & it took place at my preschool.. all I did was basically go w/the flow, but I did not lose Lucidity (I think in the 2nd one, we all started to fly)...& yes, it was very realistic, but I never have nor will mistake that for real time, but I have done the opposite!

Heh, mine was last night. I remember checking a clock (perhaps a false awakening) and i re-checked. The numbers were diffreant (I assume) and I wanted to do backflips, because I was Lucid. But I remained calm, because I remember reading about how if you get TO excited, you will wake up. I then started spinning to stay Lucid, and I thought of a beach, I was then on a beach, with whale sushi on rocks.

It was all kinda black and fuzzy though, and in bad detaill. Thats how all my dreams are, I just need to work on Dream Recall. Trust me, without it, becoming Lucide loses all purpose....

Ahhhh yes. My first lucid dream.

I remember it was fall quarter freshman year in the dorms (over 5 years ago) and I had gotten up and went to class from 9am-11am...then came back to take a nap before my 2pm class.

I just found myself within the dream world...I was alone...fully conscious, and I had alot of control surprisingly. I just flew around for awhile. It was awesome ^_^

Lucid dreaming is really wonderful...welcome to the site and good luck in attaining lucidity!! It's well worth the effort.

Anyhoo, I was running down my street being chased by a snake... one of those, couldn't out-run it things.

But I just suddenly thought, I'm dreaming, and chose to wake up.

About three years ago I was introduced to the term lucid dreaming and what it meant. I was skeptical. I did not dismiss it entirely.
I guess i had what they call beginners luck. That very night I had a lucid dream where I found myself questioning what I was doing talking to someone in a tree. I began to float around. It was bizzare.
I was actually physically shaken when I awoke! It just added another dimension to my life........ at 31 years old!
I have learned not to be closed mined about anything.
To this day I often think back to then. And how many things one could be missing out on when they live in a mental box.

o wow i remember mines like it was yesterday and in fact it wasnt that long ago...I had my first lucid dream on memorial day morning(the night before memorial day) and I had a reminderband on and it had text on it...I was sitting in my kitchen when I looked at it and I looked again and couldnt read it so I knew I was dreaming so I had to calm down and I went outside onto the lawn and I crouched down tensed my muscles and jumped as high as I could and I FLEW!!!!! I HAD A BLAST DOING IT!!!! that dream cycle ended as I landed and another one started in my room....and my sister was telling me that I wasnt dreaming.....i almost believed her until i looked at my wristband again and I couldnt read it so I jumped out my window and I fell towards the group in slow motion and I forced myself upwards again and flew again......then I woke up!!!
flew twice in one night.....man was I happy when I woke up

Well, I actually can't remember the first one. It's been years ago. I think it may have had something to do with buying a soda out of a drink machine. Not too exciting, but I realized for the first time that I could control things that were going on. I liked that.
More recently, I've dreamed of being on a beach in Hawaii. It was cool. It was like that scene from the movie "Contact" where Jodie Foster's character goes to meet the aliens and winds up on a strange distant shore. In other words, it was a pretty place but it was easy to tell it wasn't real. However, I figured it was nice anyway, so I decided to just lay there and enjoy the beach. While there, I was approached by a very handsome actor (who shall remain nameless). He talked to me for awhile, then invited me up to his room. Everything was so real. I almost said no at first, then I remembered I was dreaming, so why not? I could feel the sand under my feet and on my skin. I could smell the sea air. I could feel the air conditioning in the room, the warmth of his skin, I could smell and feel the salt water in his hair. It was just so real - so real I even felt guilty when I woke up... anyone else have LD's like this?
