      Semi-new to lucid dreaming...

I've been lucid dreaming on and off for years, but I've come here to solidify my skills and make it a life long practice.

Glad to be here, hope you all can teach me a thing or two about how to better my life through this conscious dreaming phenomenon.

Well hey GhostofBruckman (cool name hah!), welcome to DreamViews!

So you say you've been lucid dreaming on and off for a while, just curious, how do you ordinarily do it? I would love to hear your personal experiences. Before I found DreamViews, I just kinda got lucky and had them randomly.

Hello all, I've been working at LD for a few years on and off. Recently very much on. A buddy of mine and I made a DIY pair of "nova dreamer" goggles which have a timer in them, but not a REM detector. It has been somewhat successful. I have seen the lights in dreams, but still need to work in training myself to respond to the cue. I also have been experimenting with another DIY gadget. I made some headphones out of a fleece headband. I took the speakers out of a decent pair of headphones and sewed them into the headband with a comfy covering. I'm listening to various things at night to cue me. I'd love some suggestions on tracks to add to my playlist. I have made some tracks with me talking to my sleeping self and tried to time the playlist to have the talking ("You're dreaming...this is a dream...do a reality check..etc..") occur during REM, though I am just sort of doing an approximation.
I live just a few hours drive from R Waggoner and am scheduling a workshop here with him as presenter. Excited about that as well. Building a community of dreamers to explore shared dreams etc...
      Peace to you all! -M

I have a book by Stephen LeBarge (Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming) so I've read most of that throughout the past few years.

Most of the time my lucid dreams are accidents after a half hearted WBTB. I enjoy the hypnagogic imagery that occurs right before a WILD, although I have been completely unable to transition from sleep paralysis to a dream state. It's something I definitely need to work on!

Yeah alot of folks have trouble with that transition, myself included.

Here's something that might be of help to you: Wild Tutorial (namely, Phase 4: Transition).

Oh wow, thank you! Practice makes perfect but it'll be nice to have a guide to help along the way.
