Hiya! So I just joined the forum. I've been trying to actively have lucid dreams on and off now for probably 2 years now, cant say I keep track of time well. Not done too well though. So, I thought I would join this little community and see if it might help and maybe makes some friends while I'm at it. |

Any questions about lucid dreaming? Drop me a PM here!
I try to stay conscious as I drift into sleep but that's yet to work. I used to use reality checks like light switches and reading text but since I started using that I can now change light levels in my dreams and can at least comprehend text. So at the moment nothing really. |

Do you combine your WILD with a WBTB? It is very hard to WILD at initial sleep as you do not go straight into a REM cycle. |

I have tried but I have only had partial success on one occasion with doing so. Normally I don't remember to try WILDing after waking up. I'm actually getting ready to head to sleep. Is there any suggestion you could make before I do so. I took a run about 30min ago. I'm hoping that may get me to sleep a little faster. |

To be honest, i really would not recommend doing one at initial sleep - the chances of you getting into a dream are much slimmer compared to trying to do one in a WBTB. Time taken to get into REM at initial sleep is 1.5 hours up to 2 hours whereas duration between REM periods are much closer throughout the night. It is also easier to get into SP. |
