      Hello!

Hey there, my name is krazystitch.

Lucid dreaming is something I've always found interesting ever since I heard about it, but I never actually decided to try it out until just yesterday when a friend of mine actually told me about all these amazing experiences he's had. I found it to be so great, thinking of all the possibilities and decided to take it up myself, with my friend teaching me.

I've started by trying to do Dream Recall and having a dream journal. Nothing really came up from last night, though. I think the biggest challenge I'm facing is the fact that, everywhere I read, they say to make sure you wake up slowly and stay in bed a you try to remember the dream, but I sleep on top of a bunk bed with my alarm out of reach, so it'll keep ringing if I don't go about climbing out and turning it off myself, which is what I've read should not be done..so, if anyone could help me out with this, that'd be great.

But, other than that, I'm just hoping it'll all come together eventually, I really look forward to getting around to finally being able to control my dreams and to beable to communicate with the rest of you here on this forum!

Hello krazystich, and welcome to Dreamviews! I'm glad you came to this site, as we have an active community and there's always someone here to help you!

About that, I think you should think of your dreams quickly before you turn off your alarm. Like, if you dream about going to school, just remember the word "school" and turn your alarm off. Then go back to thinking about your dream, and it will slowly come back to you if you have the main idea of your dream.

And never stop practicing, because nothing's more exciting than your first LD! Just remember to stay calm when you notice you're dreaming, so that you don't wake up.

Alright then, I'll be sure to try that out next time! I imagine it must be a bit more difficult for me since I actually have to worry about getting out of bed in time in order to be able to turn it off and stuff, but I hope I'll be able wot work it out in the end. Thanks for the help!

Hello! I think it's really great that you have a friend who has had LD experiences. No one I know has had any experiences, and most of them don't really know what it even is. I found out about it a few years ago and it interested me, but I never really tried it. So what got me thinking about it now? Well, just the other morning and I had a somewhat lucid experience. I was dreaming about being in Central America with some classmates, exploring the rainforests and staying at a really nice hotel, and I was woken up by a sound. I really wanted to return to the dream, so I closed my eyes and immediately returned to it. I wasn't able to control anything, but I was aware that I was in a dream and I was trying my best to keep it going. I kept waking up and falling back into the dream, and eventually I gave up and woke up. So I started browsing the internet for information and stumbled upon this site. So far, I've begun doing reality checks and I plan to start a DJ. My two reality checks are reading a word on my necklace and seeing if it changes, and hopping into the air to see if I can float.
