Unhappy I'm a newbie, in need of answers.

Hey all, thanks for taking the time out to read this.
It's 4 23 AM and I'm writing this after my 3rd successful lucid dream, because I am troubled. I am noticing a pattern which is severely putting me off the process.

Every time I have managed to slip into a LD, I have noticed the same thing occurs and slowly begins to get entirely out of my control. I will be in my room in the dark and hear a knock on the front door which sends me into a slight panic so I focus on attempting to hear birds singing (this would comfort me greatly). Without fail the harder I try to get out of this uneasy route my LD has taken the worse it gets. I not only hear knocking, but someone opening our two front doors and eventually knocking on my bedroom window. This is enough to bring me to consciousness with a nice serving of heart palpitations.

If someone could explain perhaps why this is happening, or how I could better gain control over my dreams I would be most appreciative.

      Thank you.

Next time you should open the door to see who it is. Just knowing it's a dream and your in control should calm you down. Or just create an explosive and put it on the door, so when he knocks, no more creep dreams! Or you could easily just leave to somewhere where it's calmer. Like outside.

I'm going to terminate option A, I don't want to know who it is, I just want it to go away. The explosives, that on the other hand is tempting...
      Haha, thanks for the reply.

I'm not an experienced LDer by any means, only had 1 semi-lucid in which I woke up after a few seconds.

But from what I've heard, it could just be a lack of confidence, tell yourself you are in control of your dream and nothing you don't want to happen will happen.

Also, are you doing methods to attain lucidity such as spinning around and wiping your hands together? you cant find more information on that here Dream Control

No problem! I think the option you picked will be much more fun! If you ever have any questions, you can PM me or leave a visitor message!
