Hi everyone! I've been having trouble recently with repetitive dreams and hope to find a way to resolve this through lucid dreaming. Lucid dreaming has helped me on a couple of occasions, but I didn't do anything to induce it. It was a fortunate thing that lucidity happened when it did, but I'd like to be able to induce it when I need it.

The first time it happened, I was having repetitive elevator nightmares. In a nightmare that became lucid, I asked one of the dream figures why I was having the dreams. He told me and it was as if a light went on in my mind. The dreams went away and it was such a relief! The second time, I was having a crisis of indecision about an issue in my life. I asked again about a symbol in the dream and a presence told me. It helped me to decide on the best course of action for this issue.

So, I know that lucid dreaming has value and would like to use it to resolve my most current batch of repetitive dreams. They are so annoying and getting more disturbing -- I just can't figure out why they're happening.

Thanks for reading and hope to learn from you all.

Hello EagleEye Welcome to the forum!

Do you keep a dream journal? Even though the dream is repetitive, you should still be recording each thing you remember. This may help you become more aware of the dreamsigns within the dream and become lucid. Then you can confront a dream character again and stop having the dreams.

You may also find more help in the Nightmares/Recurring Dream forum. Please let us know if you have any questions. Good luck!

Hi Burns! Thanks for the welcome. I'm excited to be here.

No, I'm not journaling at the moment. One of my dreaming-related problems is that, in the past, journaling seem to make my dreams more and more involved and vivid. I'd wake up so tired after a night of dreaming that I eventually quit recording the dreams Maybe this time around it won't be as bad. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks also for the link on the recurring dreams. I'll check that out.
