Tried for almost half a year now, but still nothing.

Here's my situation. I've been reading about the lucidity thing for almost half a year now, acctually longer... And I have only had 2 lucid dreams so far. This kinda blows, but what the heck. I remember all my dreams now, and I'm glad for it, it's really one of the best things in the world, but I want to obtain lucidity. I need like expert help ;D

I don't seem to be able to get into the habit of reality testing. And I guess I could start there. I do it maybe once every day as it is.

What I do is every night when falling asleep I repeat the sentence "tonight I'm going to be aware that I'm dreaming", but it hasn't helped so far. And it's weird too, while falling in to sleep this mantra changes to something totally different. Like "Star Wars is you father", and such things. This annoys me, since I can't remember what I was supposed to be saying in the first place. It has just disappeared out of memory. So this technic hasn't served its purpose.

Another thing, I get sleep paralysizes from time to time, maybe once or twice per month, maybe more. I've heard you can use that for attaining lucidity, how?

First of all, I would recommend you check out the Tutorials section, particularly the part about WILDs. This is what you are referring to when you say that you can go from SP to lucidity. I'm no expert on this, as I've never gotten further than SP myself, but I know that a lot of other members have done this successfully and can help you.

I don't have much luck with this, either. The only time I remember to test reality in my dreams is when I already am pretty sure that I'm dreaming.

This is the method that works best for me. But the best time to do it is when you've already slept 4-6 hours, and then are going back to sleep. This is called the WBTB (Wake -- back to bed) method. When you first go to bed, tell yourself that you will awaken after you dream, and you will remember it. For me, this usually results in me waking up after 4-6 hours with a dream fresh in my head. Then I will get up, journal the dream, and stay up for 30-60 minutes. During this time, I will usually read the DV forums, to keep the idea of lucid dreaming fresh in my mind. I'll also have a coke or chocolate bar -- just enough caffiene to keep my mind active. Then when returning to bed, I'll tell myself "The next thing I experience will be a dream". I also try to remember the feeling of the dream I had just before awakening.

Practicing this method religiously, assuming that I'm getting enough sleep, and am not too stressed out about other things in my life, will result in 2-3 LDs during a typical week.

Having said that, it may not work as well for you. Everyone needs to find what works best for them, and you may find that WILD, or another method is your "cup of tea". But by far, the most important thing is confidence. You say that you've had 2 lucid dreams already, so you know that it can be done, and that you can do it. Just remember that, and be confident that it will happen again.
