ok my method: (may be somewhat similar to Gothlarks method)
every night I lay down just before bed, put some earplugs in, and the do a cross between Gothlarks method and some minor tweaks i made to it, its important to remember that this is just my method, you shouldn’t worry about doing it perfectly and it will become easier to do with time.
Here’s the steps:
1- lay down directly before bed and lay on your back and get comfortable (lay on your back so there’s no pressure points to distract you)
2- now relax and calm your mind for a minute (i.e. repeat the words "breathe in, breathe out, in your mind, and every time you say "breathe out" relax a little more and breathe out as you say it,, also if your having trouble concentrating say breathe in, breath out, one, breathe in, breathe out, two, etc...
3- now when your sufficiently relaxed begin to think about what your going to do in the LD your going to have tonight, really psyche yourself out knowing that your going to have one, now here’s something like you would want to do (the process of thinking it out) (first you would say "what’s my main goal?" then you would say something like "ok I’m going to fly tonight in my lucid dream" then you would think of where your going to fly and how your going to get yourself there in the dream, "I’m going to fly at the beach and watch the dolphins" how are you going to get there? "I’m going to walk to the beach because its right beside my house" (always suspect that your going to start from your bed) then think of who’s going to be there and imaginer flying at the beach and continue to go over how your going to get there, that should be enough to either stimulate a dream about you going to the beach, then you will realize that you came to the beach to fly and will become lucid)
4- now go to bed knowing that your going to be flying at the beach soon

this method has worked wonders for me and I hope it will for you too
