Seasoned Dreamer New to Dream Views

Hey there fellow dreamers. I've been lucid dreaming for about 7 years now. Should have been much longer though. I've always been addicted to recounting my crazy dreams - even as a child. I remember a friend in high school telling me how he could figure out that he was dreaming and choose to fly. I totally wrote it off. What a close-minded little punk I was.

Anyway - I was reintroduced to it many years later by my brother who was reading a book on it. Luckily (in my opinon) - I didn't read anything about it. I just talked for a week straight with him about wanting to lucid dream and to fly. For some reason - at this point - I had no doubts about it happening. Took a little over a week for me to have my first one. It was very exciting. I was able to fly a little - but couldn't get very high. Too excited - I woke up.

For the next couple of years - I practiced it without consulting any material. I never had any trouble doing anything - because I had no reason to doubt my ability. Of course - I did have to go through a process of getting less excited and more in control. Lots of fun over these years trying out all different kinds of things.

Since then - I got into Castaneda for a little while - and even practiced Tensegrity - or Magical Passes - with a local group. The practice helped me dream more often (many arguments as to why) - but the reading was distracting my actual practice I think. I have more recently gotten into yoga and zen meditation. I practice both for about an hour every day. I'm also reading Tibetan Yogas of Dream and Sleep.

I am very much about integrating my practice with my spirituality and life at all hours. I am definitely working towards being aware 24 hours a day. Non-stop lucid dreaming. Love it. Also - I've had many very cool experiences in the transition stage - beyond a general vibration and sleep paralysis. I've had some intense Kundalini experiences with energy moving up my spine - before I had ever read or heard about it. I also had some mind-blowing experiences best described as experiencing the "Butterfly Effect" in action.

Anyway - I have much to learn and much to give. Feel free to ask me anything. Mostly - I am just here to hang out in a community of people that are excited about lucid dreaming and life - and keep me excited - and keep me remembering that I am dreaming...I am dreaming...I am dreaming.

Hello Coyote! Glad to have you here. I would be so interested in hearing of techniques you use to become lucid. I know you said you started before you read up on the topic, so I'm interested in how you developed naturally... Thanks!
