Wink Hello - longtime newbe here

      Hello there.

Obviously I am new here, but I already know a bit about lucid dreaming.
Some years ago, I tried to LD, but I failed after some pre-lucid dreams. I have read Stephen LaBerg's and also Paul Tholey's book after a classmate has waken my interest in this topic (that was 2009 I think).
Since then I have noted down over 230 normal dreams until 2011 (and I missed to write down maybe the same number).
Since then I stopped noting down dreams and trying to LD, because I've lost my motivation.

But now my interest is back!
Again, I will start noting down dreams, doing reality checks and trying WILDs and DILDs.
But this time I am not alone - I hope you can help me a bit and I hope we can have some nice discussions.

(As a side note: English isn't my native language but I will try my best to make me understandable.)

Hey, Empty, and welcome to Dreamviews!

This is definetley the place to go if you want motivation! You can read people's dream journals, do the Task of the Month, submit your dreams in your dream journal, ask any questions, and make a bunch of friends! It seems like you are already pretty knowledgable about lucid dreaming. Have you had any lucid dreams yet? And I don't know what you mean by a pre-lucid dream.

By the way, your English is really good, I understood just fine what you were saying.

Hey USA, nice to meet you.
I am thankful that you understand me. I am not that bad I think, but I have no "real life" experience with this language.

Sadly I haven't had any lucid dreams yet. This is the main reason I have paused for nearly 1.5 years. I had lost my motivation trying to become lucid after 2 or 3 years of "normal dreams".

The term "pre-lucid" is a term I have read in a German book by Paul Tholey. He describes different stages of dreaming. It starts with normal dreaming, followed by "pre-lucied" (Ger: "Präluzid") dreaming and ending with lucid dreams (Ger: "Klartraum" or "luzider Traum").
Basically "pre-lucid" is a stage, where you know or you "guess" you are dreaming, but you can not control your dreams. For example: I had a dream in which I was sleeping and after realising I was dreaming (but not realising it was a dream in a dream) I woke up (in the dream) and had a normal dream again. So one could say I neither weren't really awake nor were I fully asleep.

Ohh, I sometimes have those pre-lucid dreams too. I usually count those as lucid dreams thought since I know I'm dreaming. Good luck with having a lucid dream! You'll have one soon if lucid dreams is on your mind all day too!

Just as I lost the motivation, I had my first LD and it completely restored my motivation, you'll get there eventually
